Just a note that the programme shows several aviation items, including Iroquois, Tiger Moth, FW190, Nanchang, Kiwi Blue Paratroops, Messerschmitt and Yak52 Dogfight. Memorial Park, Cambridge, 13-14th November. www.armisticeincambridge.co.nz/Programme.html

Crikey, they have finally updated the website. Only three weeks to go... hmmm Up till last week it hadn't been touched since I left the committee last year. A bit poor in my opinion.

Shall we pencil in a Forum meet-and-greet for 4:30 Saturday? In front of the broadcast tower (unless someone has a better suggested spot)?

You're assuming they will have a broadcast tower. they didn't last year, as it is far too expensive.

My memory is obviously in error - too many visits :-) Without seeing the layout, I'm reluctant to suggest elsewhere at this point - next to the toilet block just sounds grubby! Yes, communication overall has been a bit lacking.

I had a Nanchang pass very low over my back yard earlier today and I just realised it must have been a practice for the Nanchang display next week in Cambridge. Looking at the programme I see the Nanchang starts its display at the same time as the WWI Gallipoli display begins. That seems a bit odd.
I won't be there anyway, I would have liked to watch the Gallipoli display, Bruce and his team put on a great show usually.

One of the great things about Cambridge is how the average quality of the displays has increased. I've seen the plan for the Roman one this year, for instance, and it looks to be a good story.

Decisions decisions, Masterton or Cambridge? Me thinks Cambridge will win as not quite so far to travel. No Iroquis on Sunday is there? Pity but will try Sunday this time and hopefully bring Grand kids.
See some of you there.

I was told the other day by one of the organising committee memebrs the RNZAF has pulled out altogether, no Iroquois, no Kiwi Blue, etc. He was going to try to rectify the situation but don't be surprised if they're not there. Kiwi Blue has not attended for a long time. it's probably time to go back to Matamata Skydivers if they want parachutists to drop in. They used to do it - though they were not at all keen on dropping into the Square when it was based there due to the trees and the currents caused by them. The new venue would suit them much better.

Hopefully the lions won't be on site when the gun goes off, or there could be an interesting result. ;D
