I was just noting that the distinctive 954 downward slope at the rear of the lower cowl wasn't present, whereas the 950 "flat face" forward cowl is present.

flyernzl Fu-24-950 ZK-DZN, photo off the net somewhere: Is the picture taken at Matamata airfield? Sure looks similar. No idea. I thought it may be Stratford, as that's more within the WAW operational area, but just a guess. Defnitely not Stratford

I thought possibly the Hamilton show. Thanks for that, James....I'll have to try and track down the programme now! To show that, with me, its not necessarily all WAW all the time, here's a lovely shot by Eddie Bleackley (WAW engineer) of a Whalter Whletcher at Whanganui E J Bleackley Collection by Zac Yates, on Flickr

I thought that based down at Mossburn as I have seen it there, flown by Barry Morten, unless it was up there giving someone a hand?

Here is a picture I took in Hamiltron a few years back... would have been nice to get one without the fence. A couple of Walter Fletchers were around, but I prefer the 400, just looks right to me.

Nice pic Pine's, welcome to the forum I remember visiting Kermie the Cresco in Taupo a lot, never got a ride though. I did think at the time she was an amazing machine... I mean any 6 year old can relate to a plane called Kermit with the frog on it ;D I still think the best colour scheme CBD ever wore was which just happened to be ours... ;D Probably repeating myself, but CBD was broken up for components and used on the BDS rebuild, which was also broken up in a bad way

Your not wrong there I remember there used to be a fletcher with the summit quinphos logo on the tail, anyone else ever seen this?. I had a brochure from the fieldays back in the early 90s and was a photo of it on the cover, very similar to the fieldair yellow scheme but with a clover on the tail.
