You Know how close something has to be with an instamatic camera in the good old days, this photo is one of them, we had two aircraft working off the strip so I,(being young and dumb) thought it would be a great idea to snuggle up against the fence at the bottom of the strip and wait for the approaching 400 and snap a cracker. As I clicked the shutter the fletcher roared overhead not very far up,got the biggest fright ever, my heart skipped a few beats and a good rev-up from the pilot as well.

BHL showing off for the Queen at Taieri in 197? Unfortunatly this the only photo I have of BHL,my best mate was killed in it at Middlemarch on 8/8/78. He was a loader for James at Taieri, done his commercial, got a FU-24 rating, but was a bit of a rebel so they wouldn't train him, so the pilot was training on the sly and he hit the hill. Does any one have a photo from that area, it was rebuilt.

Why did a fuel company have a Fletcher? or is a private topdresser firm who have sold the advertising rights to BP?

CBD was still owned by Fieldair back then, it was due for a repaint and Fieldair asked BP if they supplied paint they would paint it in there colours. EML is getting new fin and Dorsal fin being put on at the moment. One of our WAW boys is down here doing that, sadly no sign of Zak. I am not 100% sure how it will go, just have to wait and see. Once that is down will try to put photos of new fin new gps set up and cowls for Alan to look at.

Sorry James, I asked if I could go but sadly they need my broom skills up here.

Hey Zac did test fly in EML today with new dorsal fin, looks better on a Walter/Cresco than a 400. It sems to weather cock into wind more soon now, pretty much what we thought.
