Roger Monk's lovely machine departing Manapouri BUQ getting a winter warmup. The cowl flaps were opened not long after the picture was taken.

Great shots... There would be somebody that would notice... The ones that had 'hoppers' would have had the controls rerouted like a friends 1962 model that had a camera hatch.

MYSTERY PHOTO - FIRST 180 TOPDRESSER
Surely that would be an AUSSIE One Eighty. This photo appeared in "AIRCRAFT" magazine as a full page REX AVIATION ad. Unfortunately my copy of the ad is 1.37mb, which exceeds the size limit for posting on this site. The ad states that the machine is operated by HAZAIR, Toogong, via Cudal (near Orange NSW). Hazeltons were major operators of Cessna ag aircraft. The pilots window is open...an indication of a hot aussie day. Strangely, this detail is hard to spot on the framed photo but shows up in the printed ad. At least two of the first batch of aussie machines were delivered with the ICD rotary brush spray set-up. This utilised a pair of cylindrical hoppers, one mounted under each wing. It appears that this equipment was junked in short order. The machines so equipped were VH-RAT (31123) and VH-BQD (31120). And the mystery aircraft is? VH-BQD (31120). The painted section at the top of the fin and rudder seals the deal in distinguishing it from other aussie possibilities.

Some nice pictures of BUQ, BYI and CFI at Te Anau Airport, Manapouri, taken by resident engineer Steve Hall. BUQ has since migrated to Rangitata Island and CFI has had a refurbish and is in a different scheme with a 3 bladed Hartzell hanging on the front.

I saved the last one for my screensaver.
Does anyone have photos of A185E ZK-LJG taken after March 2010? She is now part of the Wanganui Aero Work fleet, according to the CAA website.

I've got a photo of LJG at Ardmore in November 2008, but not more recently than that. Might as well post it anyway, can never have too many 185s in one thread.

Time to kick start this thread again:) Two 'blasts from the past'...Kodak 120 photos - didn't scan well, off slightly blurry originals unfortunately, but from the heady days when the C185 was a 'working machine'...Taken in 1968-69. Fox Airstrip...door off, seats out for a supply drop in the Copland... Airborne Upper Fox Névé...

Oh China pilot if we only had good cameras in the good old days, we never thought these old pictures would be in hot demand. The graineness is like the old vinal records, it's all part of the history. Keep them coming.

Kind words Yeah...didn't get a Pentax 35mm until I was in New Guinea a few years later. Sometimes I think my Box Brownie took better 'snaps' than the 'Instamatic'... Here's COH on the lower Fox....1969 Beautiful virgin snow...glad I was going to follow his tracks :-)
