GUTHRIE Trevor Warrant Officer NZ 411074 on July 16 in Palmerston North. Trevor was a WOP/AG training on Wellingtons at 11 OTU when his crew were called on to join the first 1000 bomber raid ( 30/31 May 1942 ) on Koln. They arrived early over the target and were hit twice by flak blowing an engine off. The crew baled out and Trevor spent the rest of the war as a POW. Last year he was visited by CAF , Ohakea Base Commander and a 3 squadron officer to present them with the NZBCA Memorial Trophy. Trevor told me that he had never seen so much gold braid in one place.. Go well Trevor , your 99 years of service are complete.

I have just seen the sad news that forum member and huge Mossie fan Robert Peel, the Englishman from Denmark who visits NZ every year, has sadly passed away. He was such a hard case, and a wealth of knowledge on Mosquitoes. He spoke at one of our forum meets on the Shell House Raid made by No. 487 (NZ) Squadron against the gestapo headquarters. His father was one of the aircrew members.

Oh no that's sad news. I met Robert at one of your Forum meets Dave and he was certainly passionate about the Mosquito and his Dads service.

Some very sad news from the RNZAF Sick and Deceased Group on Facebook.
It is with great sadness to share with the wider RNZAF family that W/O Warren Tindall M89573, ALM, passed away peacefully at home with Jaq (previously Serving PROVO and FSTWD) and loved ones last night after an extended illness. He will be sadly missed by us all. Jaq asked me to let you all know that she’d love any well wishes, stories or photos to be emailed to her at: jetgirl.hercboy@xtra.co.nz She will use any pics for a photo montage at the funeral. Warren’s funeral will be held at the RNZAF Museum, Christchurch on Friday 7th Aug 2020 (timings and details to come). Warren (aka Buffa), was a currently serving member of the RNZAF joining on 30 Sep 1980, flying in support of many Operations across different transport aircraft. A true gentleman and all round good guy. RIP Buffa.
Warren was posted to the Air Force Museum at Wigram at the time of his death.
