Oh no, I just received the terrible news from Peter Layne that WWII veteran, well known and loved instructor, author, educator and character Bryan Cox passed away this morning at Tauranga Hospital following another stroke. 😭 So gutted, I have been friends with Bryan since 1991, and he was one of the very first members of this forum though he never posted he read often and passed on messages to me to post. He has attended many of our WONZ Forum Meets over the years and spoken at three or four of them. Everyone who knew him or met him would agree he was an extraordinary chap. I will miss him immensely, we used to chat often on the phone and he regularly visited here when he was seeing friends and family in Cambridge. RIP Bryan. Funeral arrangements to follow. Warrant Officer Bryan Barker Cox NZ437270, 15 January 1925 - 12 June 2021

Coming from Hamilton go through Tauriko and down the hill to the big roundabout by the Lakes shopping centre and turn right.Go straight ahead on that road (to Rotorua) about 3km until you get to the roundabout at Pyes Pa Road. The big funeral home is to the left of the roundabout,or the cemetary funeral chapel is to the right of the roundabout. It will be either of those. Can't miss them.

Any idea where in Pyes Pa? It's a big place. Also consider: Coming over the Kaimai Range you stay on SH29 and don't turn off at the Lakes roundabout. SH29 becomes SH29A, keep heading eastward towards Tauranga where the next roundabout, up the hill, is the beginning of Cameron Road. On reaching that roundabout take the third exit which is the beginning of Pyes Pa Road. Oh no, Dave was a long time member here and a great bloke. He's been on the WONZ Show and spoke at the 2019 Forum meet. And he was cousins with Bryan Cox. Two great guys from the same family gone the same weekend. Damn, that makes me so sad.
