I am really sad to read just now that Wayne Parsons passed away this morning, after an illness. Wayne was one of the original NZ Warbirds guys and many will remember his excellent monthly column for several years on NZ Warbirds activities in New Zealand Wings magazine. He was a great guy. RIP Wayne. Yes this is sad news I found out on Tuesday night. I personally have fond memories of Wayne at NSAC when he was the President of the club. We called him Mr President. Also great memories with Wayne and others with Matt Wakelin flying in the then CAF Beech 18. He was also a great airshow commentator. R.I.P. Wayne

Kelvin Bremner was a quietly spoken gentleman who had a wide-ranging career in aviation medicine. He was the doctor at Laucala Bay for the Minerva Reef rescue and there are photographs of him examining the temporary graves on the atoll on the air force museum website. His brother was a fighter pilot during WWII in the Solomons and went missing during a mission, and his body was never recovered.

Oh wow, that's really sad to hear. He used to do some of the flight testing for PPLs at Auckland Aero Club when I worked there. I knew he hadn't been well for quite some time but still a bit of a shock.
