In amplification of Dave H's reply to Antonio's question immediately above, the letter "C" inserted between the "NZ" prefix and the number itself indicates previous service in the ATC (Air Training Corps) prior to enlistment in RNZAF. The RNZAF itself did NOT have any such young personnel serving under the title of cadets in WW2. Whoops, I see that Errol more or less covererd this point in his statement.

Alan Beresford Belworthy, On Friday, September 1, 2023, in the early hours of the morning, Alan pulled the chocks for the last time sliding into the cockpit of the Pusher, departing to share his stories and experiences with old and new friends. An accomplished and inspirational individual with a passion for boats, hydroplanes, aeroplanes, and trikes. Even late on Thursday night he still wanted to get out of bed to help others. Loved husband of Kathryn, loved father of Susan, Evan and Fiona, special father-in-law of Penny, awesome Granddad of Greg and Charlotte, Brett and Rowan, and Lucy. He was also a Granddad of Steffan, Ashley, and elated to have met his great-grandchild Olsa this year. Survived by youngest sister Alison and brother-in-law Ralph from Masterton. We will celebrate his legacy on what would have been his 94th year, during Labour weekend. Fly high mate, you have left your mark.

Is that date for when he got out correct? Because despite me never meeting him, when i was in the RNZAF in the early 1990s he was a well known name within the S&S trade and I assumed he was still serving at the time as all the Cpls, Sgts and some LAC's seemed to have worked with him at some point, I thought.
