Sitrep": Linecor Mark Hall (Snow) R77824 (Flt Lt RNZAF Retd): The bottom message came today and this immediately below came the other day. Please note his request about messages.
I'm Linecor Mark Hall (Snow) R77824 (Flt Lt RNZAF Retd)
I'm currently in PA hospital in Brisbane with aggressive bone cancer. We expect me to be dead before 6 or 7 October 2012.
Someone will tell you when it is done.
You can spread this widely on the net. Can people, please, not deluge Mo with messages while she is coping with me to the end. I know I'll die suddenly.
I will write a little about myself during the week - maybe. You can circulate or hide it...
Thanks
Lin
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Lin M. Hall [mailto:linmhall@gmail.com] Sent: Thursday, 4 October 2012 11:09
Things moved fast this last week.
Went into hospital Thursday and was admitted in bad health and lowest energy!
They gave me five - 10 days to death. I believed them!
After changing my treatment regime I've had Thursday pm onward free of discomfort, pain and such, even energy, and that last is what will kill me, quickly, I hope.
Don't worry, I'm not looking for sympathy. This is the end.
The same old grumpy Snow Hall. Think of me as someone who wasn't afraid to speak-out for what he thought was right - and not necessarily the party-line.
I associated with a number of really brilliant men and women who changed things too! Some drastically. I remember courses I was on where it was a close-run thing that I passed-out. Mostly that was down to help for me and resistance to the establishment by others. You know who you are!
Good wishes to you all. Be happy for me.
Kia kaha,
Lin

Thanks Shorty for passing on the info re- Snow. I was saddened to see that the other day but Snow seemed to be taking it all in his stride.
Snow was the Staff Officer looking after the Wigram based training fleet. He seemed to have it all well under control and massaged through some good stuff. He was excellent in dealing with the new 'One Page' Form 700. Another one he had a hand in was a major revision of the F-27 MMS (M-6) for the RNZAF fleet. Both were mooted and subsequently finalised within weeks. A good effort.

Shorty, that's a real shame about Pete. I spent several years working with him at ERS at Woodbourne. He had a great deal of skill and knowledge in all areas of gas turbine maintenance, repair and overhaul and was really good to work with. Pete and my dad were on the team that travelled to the UK for the first RR Viper course as part of the RNZAF Strikemaster purchase. Dad will be sorry to hear the news also.

Yes, a very sad note regarding Peter. I was on the same (BES19) intake with him in 1962. He originally joined as Electrical (or possibly Comm air) in "A" Flight and was almost directly opposite me in the dorm. I did not recall his re-mustering to Engines. When did that happen? Though I did not go, I see from the photos that he attended the BES19 50th Reunion at Woodbourne in January this year.
