Tragically I doubt that the USMC will bring one of their Harvest HAWK add-ons on their Herc. No it's a tanker instead Harvest HAWK is fitted to KC-130Js, and I think that the USMC only has KC Hercs. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harvest_HAWK#Harvest_HAWK

You can drive to Wellington at legal speeds in roughly eight and a half to nine hours. Or if you go the right way you can comfortably do it in 7 1/2 hours at legal speeds. Hint - do NOT go through Matamata, Cambridge or Taupo. ;D

I've got my accommodation booked, now just got to sort out tickets and then hope the weather cooperates so we can fly down to Wanganui where we're staying!

I suppose they are still technically tankers I happened across this improvement that is under test. www.navair.navy.mil/index.cfm?fuseaction=home.NAVAIRNewsStory&id=4921Having to remove the missile pod from the back ramp before 'cargo operations' is seen as a downside. They probably don't fit the extra fuel tank on the cargo deck with Harvest HAWK fitted either - only has one refuelling pod available.

Will an Aermacchi be there? I just saw a add on the internet for the WoW and it had a Aermacchi on it! Will we be so lucky too?

Well there are 16 of them still sitting in a hangar at Ohakea so hopefully they'll roll one out for the show, though don't expect it to be flying (nor there to be one at Wanaka!).

So there won't be one at Wanaka? This was definitely a Aermacchi on the internet ad banner. Similar to the kind that is near the top of this forum. Did the Armacchi have a glass cockpit?

I think that banner is meant to show the aircraft that have participated in the show previously.

The WOW poster shows RNZAF aircraft past and present that have flown at WOW, not necessarily what will be at the show! I doubt we will see an Andover or Friendship there either! The Macchi cockpit was mostly anolog instruments. There was a HUD and one basic MFD. It was a partially digital avionics system but not as integrated or digital as the Kahu Skyhawk.

Yeah I know the poster thing you are talking about but this was a bit different. I only displayed 3 aircraft on it. It was a banner advert not a poster. If I see it again I will take a screenshot Oh right, thanks

If they bring that, wonder if the Aussies might think about bringing one of theirs over with their top dogs to try it out. on that note, can the Cheif of Defence or Chief of the Air Force (Australia that is) use the BBJ's

Cool news! My first chance to see an in-service RAF machine. Well done to all involved for getting so many foreign/allied aircraft to participate, even in a static role.
Three weeks to go now, is it?

I also see the Anson is listed to appear, that would be great.
I feel a bit excited about the fact the International Flying Displays list the USAF C-17! For some reason I quite like the Globemaster, and was quite underwhelmed by the "display" by the RAAF when theirs appeared at Wanaka.

The USAF C-17 put on a good display at Whenuapai a couple of years ago, those things are seriously loud!
