You never know, it might have. Perhaps without the 10,000 pre-purchased tickets the queues would have been longer still.

Have just seen your amazing piccs of the aircraft chaps. Nice. Would any of you have taken piccs of my 75 Squadron Marquee with the wax statue mould of James Ward. VC out front? I was distracted all day inside the marquee, that I did not get a nice picc of the overall marquee from the front.. I would like to use one in my newsletter if anyone has.... thx...

I thought most people reckoned there was no signage. the day before the airshow we scouted out the entrance to the airshow and clearly saw prepaid tickets and a cash line at the main gates off state highway 1. the day of the airshow be headed straight up SH1 to this entrance and saw no signage what-so-ever... sat in a line of traffic for about 45 minutes outside the main entrance when everybody was then turned around and told to go the long way around. " this entrance is for VIP's only"... the traffic was as far back as i could see at this stage and only then were they erecting signs Approx 9am..... they knew it was expected to be a massive turnout. and as airshow's go..... alot people will arrive early before the official gate open time, they should have known this.. but at least we were lucky enough to get in just it time for the hunter display... sadly enough alot didnt

Not a great shot of the marquee sorry Glen, but couldn't resist the beautiful girl in the foreground: You're welcome to use it, as Dave says, if nothing better comes along. Cheers, Chris

Really neat to see that, thanks Peter. I never knew that a Hercules had been marked with the Anniversary markings. That white writing really stands out on the grey.

The Herc was supposed to be at Ohakea on the day. Was mentioned as one of the possibilities. However it went u/s, as they do, and remained at WP.

Someone said it was not u/s but was held up in a transit (from Aussie or something) and by the time it had gotten to Ohakea it had missed its slot so headed home to Auckland.

As this is the 75th year of the Air force, will the aircraft wear these markings for the rest of the year or were they for the air show only?

Nice shots. You must have been standing right next to us Alex, as they parked that Fokker in front of us too! It was a superb view till then.
