The power....the passion....the efficient transport of fare-paying passengers... Are these what you wanted, Gavin? And that Panzer isn't so tough... Low-level top-dressing display Miles Messenger playing dress-up and trying desperately to look like a Skyhawk If all else fails... And finally, a teaser for the next lot of photos. Cheers, Brett

Some of these photo's are incredible! Thanks for sharing guys! Just a few snaps here: Preparation is everything or so they say... one inside one out getting the perspex cleaned up for the punters. Might have just been a vapor lock but she took a bit to get her fired up, cowl off and a few cranks to bring her to life. Kids loved the slipstream! These guys were really giving the 190 a going over Tomahawk was awesome, incredible to note the differences between models, just about to do a U turn The other perspective I had almost forgotten what they sounded like but it all came back when she passed by! Thanks so much to all that were involved in this weekend. We are so privileged to have this delivered to us by people with such a passion to share!!

We were visiting Blenheim to see our lad graduate from basic training at Woodbourne. Attending the opening of the air show on the Friday seemed the right thing to do! Having made Airfix models of many of the WW2 planes as a kid I thoroughly enjoyed it. test image

These guys were really giving the 190 a going over The gentleman with his back to the camera is the owner of the 190 one Murray Miers I believe.

And not a photo but I was lucky enough to run this Allison V12 from a P40 Kittyhawk owned by Laurie Gudsell. Also sponsoring his trip down from the North Island also gave me starting privileges ;D I did another run on Saturday and managed to get her to start first time, there is a bit of a "Wurlitzer" approach to starting the Allison, with 2 starter switches operated with the left thumb and knuckle of the index finger plus getting ready to pull the mixture control from idle-cutoff to rich (the red knob) as soon as she fires while also operating the primer switch just below it with the right hand. This was my third attempt as the engine was misbehaving a bit due to an injector issue. Mike Nicholls managed to find one in his hangar and that issue went away.

Yeah pity it doesn't actually run on beer, we would end the fuel shortage! The one closest to camera has the fuel, the one on the opposite side is the oil tank (Keg?). The two small red cylinders directly under the control panel is where the priming fuel is stored. Laurie is a clever guy as he uses air pressure to help the fuel get to where it needs to go, and when you flick the priming switch it actually just opens a valve and the priming fuel being under pressure goes into the intake manifold (I think its the intake manifold it might be the supercharger, I'll have to check.)

Jesus, it just keeps getting better. I love all the sunburnt faces. The pic of the V2 exploding is phenomenal.

Ok now where were you sitting OldFokker? Because were were almost underneath them! Don't tell me you were sitting beside us?? Ah now I'm told by my brother that you had the large laminated forum sign and were sitting behind me!!! Thanks for introducing me guys!!!! (Yeah I know you were probably afraid I'd drop sauce covered chips on him!) EDIT: Who is this just to the right of Dave? Is he a forum member? Had an accent and was highly amused when he found out Al was towing the engine to do a startup at the aero club bar!

(Yeah I know you were probably afraid I'd drop sauce covered chips on him!) Ahh , I remember a guy sitting behind us , with a shirt that had " oldfocker " on it ! Guess that must have been you oldfocker ( ok , so I may not be the brightest , but I thought it just a reference to the planes , not the guy wearing the shirt ) Liked the interview with Kermit , he seems like a really interesting bloke !( duh ) !
