So, what happened to the wheel covers on the Fw? I think that you may find that it's a simple case of a serviceable set of doors were probably never built for this 190 so finished doors not supplied.

Really nice photos everyone. I didn't realise the Checkers had gotten down to Marlborough before the pilot got ill. I hope he is recovering. I noted on the CT/4E that was present the pilot was Lt Comm Wayne Theobold, a Navy pilot. It's interesting to see a Navy pilot in the Checkers, not too many of them in the past.
Did anyone get shots of the Corsair making masses of ectoplasm on the Sunday morning? I was busy so missed filming that display, but the vortices were more like clouds and it looked awesome!

The Checkers came down with an another instructor pilot as they took part in a flypast for a parade on the Thursday so we still took part in a media flight at the same time seeing the RNZAF were kind enough to offer it.
The FW190 does have a set of lower gear doors, they are in need of paiting and fitting. The FW190 can and do happily fly without them so they were not a priority but will be fitted some time in the future.
In terms of requests did anyone get any pictures of the WW2 fighter formations at the end of each day?

Errol, you are too modest, that's a fabulous pic. In fact, I think I remember you showing it to me via your camera LCD screen after you took it. BTW those two bottles of wine that you kindly gifted us were great too!!

BTW those two bottles of wine that you kindly gifted us were great too!! Thanks. I feel bad that I missed the first pass, R to L, with the fog spilling out of the cranks of the wings. That shot also looks great on a 4 inch screen, good at 800px, and fuzzy at more than 1000px.

The first pass The second Later Images are straight out of the camera. Would have been nice to have had blue sky so both "trails" in picture 2 could be seen easier, but then unlikely then to have had the air conditions to get the vapor forming in the first instance!!

Cheers Gavin. Found a photo of it with the wheel covers on: That looks like an Fw. Note the 262 tail in the background.

That would be pretty hard with the heat haze, Errol. Could be replicated in PS using the ripple effect tho.
