That really is a completely gorgeous aeroplane, and it was a great, great privilege to see it both on the ground and in the air. Thanks so much to Bill Reid for bringing it up and making its debut at this wonderful airshow; and to Sean Perrett for such a nice display. It has a rather unique and lovely sound too!

Tremendous, really great to see the interior shots too. I can imagine my Granddad hunched up in that small space.

It reaslly was a treat to see the Anson fly up at Ardmore. Even though I'd seen it a couple of times out at Bill & Robyns place, I'd not caught it in the air so this brought the anticipation to fruition. One thing I noticed, my vids of the Anson are much better framed than the vids of the Mosquito. hmmm, wonder why that is? Steve.

It was a real privilege to see the Anson as well as the Mossie - boy were we spoilt on Saturday! A big thank you to the Reids for sharing her with us. An immaculate aircraft, looks even better up close, and so atmospheric - the Morris 8 of the skies?? Not only is she easier to frame in the aerial shots, I noticed her nose was pristine compared with the bug-splattered Mossie - guess they had plenty of time to get out of the way when they saw the Annie coming! Arriving Saturday morning: Park-up for the night: Putting her to bed:

At some stage it would be great to see the Anson and Mossie in the air together John

On pg6 of November Flypast, there's the result from last months question,"Which, in your opinion, is the most significant restoration to flight over the last year or so: Duxford's P-47 Thunderbolt; New Zealand's Anson 1; The Hawker Fury 1;Duxford's Spitfire 1; or Biggin Hill's Spitfire 1?
The most popular answer was the Anson.
A nice little bit of praise from enthusiasts around the World for such an amazing restoration.

That's a very interesting poll result and completely validates Bill & Robyn's decision to go with this traditional "underdog" type. Although part of their rationale may have initially been "it"ll be cheaper than a V12 fighter" (I'm sure it wasn't), nevertheless they have a standout aircraft that fills a real gap in the active warbird scene, and there's no doubt, everyone loves it. I hope they and their family friends and helpers get to share many happy hours in and around it over the summer and coming years. Great people, gorgeous aeroplane. Thanks guys !

Yes well deserved and Peter good job you and your Aussie buddy did commentating the Mosquito show, you knew when to talk and when to shut up. Perfect! ;D

Thanks Baz. It was a real pleasure to be involved. The trick for commentators is to "add" something to the overall experience, - not spoil it obviously, so your comments are well received. It was a challenge for us as so much was changing at the enth hour, ( we only learned that Kiwi Blue were out at the pilot briefing). But that said, it worked out well and for many of us it will be a day we will always cherish and remember with great fondness. A very special vibe. The world would be a far less interesting place without the warbird/ vintage aeroplane movement huh?
