How do I do that?

I was going to ask that. I would suggest downloading iTunes from the apple.com website (free download), I do believe there is a "create podcast" function.

PodOmatic makes a RSS feed available for each account. I'm not sure about Soundcloud. I assume it is possible to aggregate more than one RSS feed into a single RSS feed, but I don't know what tools are available to do it. iTunes (and indeed people like me who don't use iTunes) wants a single RSS feed, which will have a pointer to each episode as it becomes available.

Why can't users simply download the MP3 file to My Music, and then drop it into their own iTune account for their iPod? That's what I do when sticking something on my iPod. I never download anything via iTunes, I thought it cost money?
Not everyone has an iPod nor uses iTunes so I have tried to keep it more universally accessible than simply doing the iTunes thing.
I have a new second-hand PC for my online use which I just got this week as the old online PC kept crashing every few minutes as it was clapped out, but I don't have iTunes on it yet because the download connection I have tells me it will take 18 hours to download!! Sod that!
I will have to download it to a USB stick elswhere and then bung it on I guess. But even then I won't be able to upload files to iTunes through my connection. So can I do so from another computer onto my iTunes account? Is that possible?
This is why the show needs a sponsor so I can afford to upgrade to a broadband connection and eliminate a lot of the hassle with this system.
Also I will not be using either Soundcloud or Podomatic to store the shows on in the near future, because both free accounts are nearly full, and I have been very kindly given access to a massive server space to host the shows in the future.
However this opens another huge set of issues for me because I then have to work out how the user is going to download it from the server. Can someone please advise if there is an application available to make a player or download button link to the file on the server? All this is beyond me completely, but I'm learning slowly. For a long time I couldn't foresee getting this far...

Upload it onto Youtube as a video/soundclip (sound only movie) using windows movie maker then people can go to savetube.com and take the mp3 of the video(the talking) and it saves it to your computer.

I cannot upload to Youtube either (or watch Youtube) on my connection so makes not difference.
Youtube is clips of only up to ten minutes, isn't it? Many of these recordings are over an hour long.

Yea I was thinking that after I wrote it,although I have seen a few hour videos on Youtube,so scrap that idea.I think if it's just sound not film it uses less.

It's great that you have storage space available now. Does it include a bandwidth allowance as well?
The way iTunes is designed to work with podcasts is that you subscribe to on-going podcast shows. Then whenever you sync your iTunes podcasts, it goes off and finds out what new episodes are available for shows you have subscribed to, and downloads them. This is why for you to publish a show to be available to others in the iTunes Store, you have give them a RSS feed to use as a source of future episodes. So when a listener finds a podcast show that they are interested in, they subscribe to it once, then are fairly confident that new shows will be available to them in the future, without having to specifically look up a webpage.
The software I use on my Android phone uses a similar concept. I set up a show (which points to a RSS feed) and give it some settings (normally the default ones are fine). Then it checks for updates on the schedule I tell it, or when I manually tell it to update (e.g. when I get home on Wednesdays I update - a couple of clicks on my phone- so that I get the Airplane Geeks before walking the dog).
I follow 20-odd podcasts, with frequencies varying from more than weekly, to monthly, to irregular. Managing even that smallish number without the episodes being 'pushed' to me would be tiresome and irritating. Following a show that doesn't have an RSS feed requires it to be something special - like the WONZ show (which I see updates for anyway as I look at the Recent Posts)

As far as the server space goes I as of yet know no further information. I am waiting to speak to the chap to find out more. All I know is it is apparently limitless and free. If there is no bandwidth allowance, what does that mean? Is it useless?
Regarding iTunes, ok, I didn't know that it works that way automatically. I've never subscribed to any shows, I just download stuff as I decide to. I can see a benefit to this though if it can be set up, but again I am clueless as to what to do to make sure it's always the same RSS feed. I don't even know what RSS stands for! I'm begining to think this is all to complex for my rusty brain and I need an IT guy or girl to take over the dealings after I have recorded and edited a show. Any volunteers?

As a New Year gift to you all, I have just uploaded four new shows to the WONZ Show page. Two are 2004 recordings from our ebsite launch and Air Force Reunion, the first ever event that the website had - now the forum carries on that tradition. They are recordings of Bryan Cox (WWII RNZAF Corsair pilot) and Ross Horton (RNZAF Padre dedicating our Cambridge Air Force memorial plaque). The others are two new shows, with well known forum members Bruce Cooke and Peter Lewis. Listen and see more here: www.cambridgeairforce.org.nz/WONZ_Show.html

How remiss of me, I meant to add to my post above a special thanks to Bruce Cooke who helped me get those four new shows up online and avaialble by using his broadband yesterday. Many thanks Bruce, and sorry for forgetting this note.

Thanks Dave, and a Happy 2012 to you and all forum members. I enjoyed listening to some of the new podcasts last night and will cover the rest this week. many thanks to all concerned for getting these podcasts up and running, particularly Dave and of course Bruce for the most recent ones. Cheers for the New Years gift, as always I enjoyed learning about another aspect of NZ aviation. Great stuff. :-)

I've had a go at writing the XML file for the RSS feed. If you want me to email it to you, PM me and I'll email you it. www.podcast411.com/howto_1.html - I've been reading over this and it now makes sense to me. It might be of use to you. www.apple.com/itunes/podcasts/specs.html - This is helpful too. Once you get your head around it, it's pretty simple really.

Thanks Luke. It looks like the way the shows is hosted is about to change with a server host kindly offering free space, so I have to get all the details of what that is about and work out how it will work before I set up the RSS feed I guess. I can then possible reload the old shows onto the new server as well as new ones so they are all in the same place.
When I get a moment I'll take a look at those links. Cheers.

I think I've got the XML perfected, so once you have the server sorted I'll complete all the links to the MP3 files in the script then send you the XML so that you won't have to do anything in terms of setting up the RSS feed other than upload the XML to the directory in your website then submit the feed to iTunes.
