A help plea. Does anyone know or have a ranger motor siting in a corner of their workshop? At least half a dozen must have been removed from Widgeon's in NZ.

Is CHG still sitting outside at Ardmore ? Are there any plans for the hulk as one these sitting under the Solent would look pretty amazing

Pretty sure it's still there, I taxi past it nearly every day but admittedly haven't paid much attention lately. I think I would notice if it was gone though!

Pretty sure Bob McGarry had a Ranger, recall seeing it in the corner of the Mt Cook/CAC hangar at Harewood

Interesting CAA re-registration processed 2 August 2019, effective 30 July 2019, is Widgeon ZK-CFA to Salt Air Ltd, Paihia.

That clears things up. Thanks Dave! Have just done a quick check of FAA. N144SL is c/n 1215. It is a recent allocation. By searching the c/n 1215 in google, I found some photos of it as N13DF and also on a private register. N13DF does not show on the FAA register as the aircraft has changed registrations. ZK-CHG had c/n 1356. Checking via serial number on FAA, it shows up as N97102 as exported to New Zealand in 1964. So as yet no owner has applied for it to be registered.

ZK-CHG as seen on ANZAC Day this year. IIRC she was used for parts for ZK-AVM.

ZK-CFA has apparently been seen a few times outside it's hangar at Kerikeri in the last 6 weeks, yesterday I heard a 'new' aircraft flying around but couldn't see it - only for Dad to come home and say he had seen it do a touch and go and a landing while he was out sailing.....

Enjoyed this history, having been directly involved with overhauling all the electrical and ignition systems at AESL/NZAIL, who did the engine overhauls. Not allowed in salt water but Salt Air ok (•‿•).
