Some Auckland aircraft this time judging from the length of the grass under them I would say that this photo was taken at Ohakea while they were in storage. A bunch of ATC cadets on a visit to Whenuapai. four aircraft types are represented in this photo with a Hastings, Freighter, C 130 engine and a Devon wing behind the cadet on the right. Date would be either 65 or 66 Hastings, Freighter and Devon again.

Time for some more Harvard photos Notice the marking variations in the last two photos, the Buzz number has gradually migrated from the rear cockpit to the front cockpit side and the serial has gone backwards from being entirely on the yellow band to be clear of it to the rear.

Right, to complement this excellent thread started by Shorty, and as I have nowhere near the same number of years collecting as he has[ , I will shortly be able to go through some 500 slides which have been generously scanned and placed on a disc by someone who knows what he's doing! That in itself is surprising, as he's a mate of Dave's.....however, anything that flies, or flew, that is on that disc will appear here...hopefully! I am told that there are some seriously good shots, and the guy, as I say, knows what he's about. We'll see. As a starter here is a 208 Sqn Hunter FGA 9 which landed short at Nairobi airport and broke its right leg. I think I was helping with the defuel. Yes that is me, so I'm told, and there is a certain resemblance and I was there.....

This was our war chariot, provided by the RAF, to transport us from Tengah to Gong Kedah: 1966 that would be..

Dave at the top of page 67 you ask how the RN Historic Flight get on for spares for the Pegasus engine on their Swordfish , I do not know but I read a story about a museum who hoped find a Swordfish for their collection . One day someone spotted a Pegasus engine on Ebay and a decision was made to bid on it . The museum won the auction and were very suprised and red faced when a Harrier engine turned up .

That's funny but rather sad at the same time. Imagine how much fundraising they'd have done to afford the engine. I hope they're able to do something with it or sell it on.
