How good was the NH90 display I see if came down equipped with float gear, as it came across the Cook Strait, but would have been nice to see one out and about with the external tanks fitted. are they fully certified for flight with the tanks yet.

Established earlier in the thread that the Scout is ZK-HJG, by matching the Army serial XP166 it still wears with other references. I should have known that - it has my initials as it's PI of G-APVL! flyernzl is currently in Motueka

Was Jurgis Kairys flying his Su26 Juka at this show? Or was he flying the Su29M ZK-SUK? Or both?

Quite a basic fly around, hovering. Not what I would call a full-on handling display. Next time perhaps... well it is new

Pretty obvious looking at the photo of the two Vampires taxying out as to why ZK VAM/A79-649 could never win. Poor old Kiwi didn't know if he was coming or going!

Finally have overcome computer problems and trolled through 2400 photos from the trip, I can now upload some coverage. Wanaka is not ideal for photos, as the airfield orientation means you are mainly looking into the sun. I have told them that they need to turn the whole airfield 90 degrees towards the South, but they did not seem particularly keen. There maybe some overlap with photos already posted, but hey thats life. Starting with the modern military stuff: The NH90 NZ3305 arrived late, after showtime on the Saturday. Consequentially it wasin the RNZAF flightline on Sunday morning. It did participate in the Sunday display slot Quite an impressive wee beast.

The Seasprite guys now have their display sequence well sorted. NZ3601 did the honours on both show days.

cheers peter, nice shots. quick question, do you try to use a bigger screen, say 20" desktop or bigger to check each shot so as to delete the not good ones, not saying any of yours are not good but we all have accidents.

Well I certainly would't claim that every one of the 2400 was a gem.
Yes I do like to work on a desktop system with photos, but I donate too much money to Mr Cessna to be able to afford a 20"

The other RNZAF helo display was by UH-1H Iroquois NZ3816. Tried and true. Finishing withy the traditional low-level-down-the -runway-with-crewman-waving exercise Sadly we must be getting near the end of Iroquois displays soon.

The heavy metal was Hercules NZ7003. This aircraft displayed some quite spectacular water vapour vortexes during its morning take-off After the Herc climbed to height, the RNZAF parachute team departed the aircraft and gave a faultless display The high/low military landing approach was a feature and the anti-missile flare dropping technique was quite spectacular
