I see the WOW web site is now saying the RAAF are sending some Hawks to the show. Not quite F-18s but still a nice addition to the show.

For some reason I have just looked at the ticket prices for this years show. WOW is right! The cost for one admission for either Sat or Sun is NZ$85.00 .For $5 more its a family pass to Wings over Wairarapa's 2013 show. WOW.

what a rip off….not worth it! I would say around $40 would be on the high side. I have been to many air shows overseas and have never paid anywhere near that amount.

The Warbird open days at Ardmore are $10.00.Great value for money and you see the exciting acts spread over the day (10.30 to about 15.00).The WW1 era not typically well represented but displays from jet, Warbird ,unlimited aerobatics, flybys and ground re-enactments and the DC-3/other scenic flight available. Great value.

Didn't they have a warbird Reno style air race in the WoW 92 airshow? Tim's aircraft against the rest. Cant remember who won.

I think the Ardmore Warbirds Open Days have gone up to $15 now, haven't they? Still massive value for money.
They had a Harvard pylon race at the 1992 Warbirds Over Wanaka. I don't think any fighters were involved in racing, were they? I seem to recall it was pretty tame and resembled the mock airfield attack without explosions....
Air racing used to be extremely common in NZ at air pageants through the 1930's with pilots from clubs all over NZ converging on pageants all over the country through the year to take part. Most of the aircraft that took part were DH60's Moths and Avians.

Yes, and all the fighter squadrons actually used them too, in NZ.

Farnborough air show 42lb That's a heavy price! Pound Sterling (STG) the £ or the modern ghastly acronym GBP for Great British Pounds, but not lbs... The recent RAAF Centenary show was $30 Aus, for an adult, or $72 for a four person family. (The previous Pageants at the RAAF Museum have been free.) Regards,

Hell that Avalon show is a ridiculous price. I think that's what we call a typo. A$45 sounds about right. (I generally don't know what the tickets cost.)
