More great shots!! Thanks guys, really impressed with the scenes and scope of the whole Classic Fighters weekend. It really demands a future visit. Dino, that dark shot of the Corsair was fab, and the head on shot too! Plus the Yaks in the split from Gavin, and the wide angle shots too of the large flybys all spread out, gosh, one could just sit here flicking through all the pages of shots and still not get bored - just in awe of the photography and the pilots' performances too - trying to show the planes off to best advantage to those on the ground. Thanks to all concerned - including the Red Checkers boys, and those in the large craft too - and to all the skilled airmen enjoying the moments having fun in the various aged aircraft, some in various craft over the weekend. Thanks to, go to the owners of the planes, who put them up in the air at a cost to themselves just even getting them there. Plus the cost of the hours of flying and later the shorter return to maintenance schedules... it all costs! So thanks to everyone involved in the show including all of the organising and management crew and for those taking the photos and editing and finding the best shots!! I'm just blown away!

That's a classic shot Colin.
I thought it was great that the Red Checkers took part in the massed flypast, I haven't seen the RNZAF get involved like that before. The closest would be the Checkers and Roaring Forties together at the Whenuapai Airshow a few years back.

Beautiful shot - lovely in the sun. All the detail shows while doing a bow or was he accelerating? Thanks.

That shot of the Yaks waiting to take off into the leadened sky is really awesome Gavin. When we took off I thought "its going to be rough" and sure enough it was. By the time the Yak 3s got to us we did a little bit and I decided to wave them off, a Yak 3 flying at 140 knots works well on a good day but it was hard on that day so I let them go early, Graeme and Arthur flew really well and we did get one orbit in with each aircraft leading which was great. Still have a few fillings I need to have replaced!!!

yes the Venom really impressed me. Nice photo Gavin, man look at that heat trail!! Don't know the specs but I was wondering if the Venom is a tad faster than the Strikemaster?

Even the Vampire was faster than the Strikemaster Baz, but you have to remember one was a fighter-bomber by design and the other an advanced trainer.
