The photo with the two "Blue nose" P51D Mustangs, I'm sure one of them is ex-RNZAF. Great photos thanks so much for posting them!

I mentioned earlier about that Baz, but I got them mixed up, it is 'Little Rebel' that is ex-NZ2406. Both are owned by Bob Baker and they're painted in the colours of twin pilots, Buck and Bill Patillo, both of whom flew with the 352nd Fighter Wing and went onto the ranks of General.

Bruce, on the new forum you do not have to downscale, it does it for you, all photos fit to the width. That cuts a considerable chunk of work out of the job. yeah, but they still need downscaling so they dont take a month to upload....

This is from John Terrell on Wix forum when I asked if any of the six P-40's there wee ex-NZ restorations.
"Speaking for the P-40's, three of them that were attendance were all restored by Fagen Fighters/Warhawks Inc. in Granite Falls, MN - each one being Oshkosh WWII Grand Champion award winners (P-40K N401WH - 2006, P-40E N4420K - 2009, and P-40K N402WH - 2013). Another that was there was an example that was restored by Tom Reilly for Don Brooks (N2416X), now owned/operated by Walter Bowe. The two other P-40's in attendance were the CAF's P-40N (N1226N), which was restored by the Tex Hill Sponsorship Group (Gainesville, TX)), and the Frasca family's long-time owned P-40E (N40PE), which, according to EAA, has attended every Airventure since 1976!"

Very cool photos, guys. I love the detail shots of the PV-2. Nice to see the Air Venture Museum's P-38 and Mossie getting an airing too. That Mossie is RS712 and used to be part of the Strathallan Collection.

Just had a quick look (time for bed) but my eagle I spied a TBF Avenger (the real deal Grummman built Avenger this time not a later General Motors built TBM-3E!), did you take any more photos of it? Looks like you had a great time. Trip to the US is on my bucket list!

Ha ha well that is a bit more than I take thats for sure. Both aircraft look identical until you look at the engine cowlings. If you look at the very first post my J5F Auster Restoration thread there is a photo of a RNZAF TBF Avenger.
