Who is coming to Armistice in Cambridge 2013? We plan to have loads of air activity this year with the P-40N, Avenger, Mustang, Tiger Moth, Orion, Grasshopper and Stearman, plus DC-3 rides and P-40N rides from Hamilton. As well as the aerial action there will be lots happening on the ground and the water such as Navy ribs, masses of military models, the re-enactor camp, the military vehicles, steam pinnace boats, militaria displays and swap meet, and loads more. You get so much for such such a cheap fee through the gate, and in a beautiful location too. Check out the website here: www.armisticeincambridge.co.nz/

Will the planes be on view or accessible at the airport Dave? I gather there are rides to purchase in a couple of the planes.

Probably just for one day this year, as I'll be in Oz for the week before.

It was a lot of fun last year, I think I'll be there again this year, may be for just one day though - same.

The P-40N and the Dakota will be doing rides from the airport, and will be based there. The Mustang will also be based at the airport, and Noel's Pitts is always based there. If you want to glimpse any of the aircraft there go to the Aero Club side.

Noel should bring the Ryan across for a display - after all, it is a genuine pacific war veteran!

We have already explored that avenue and I personally hoped it would be the case but sadly it won't be finished its test flying regime by then.

I am pleased to announce that when Brendon Deere's Grumman Avenger "Plonky" comes up from Ohakea and will be doing its flying display, a VIP will be onboard. In keeping with the 'War In The Pacific' theme, Brendon and I have arranged for WWII Corsair pilot and topdressing legend Phil Lightband to be onboard in the Navigator's seat.
How cool is that?!!

The mosquito display last year was 1 1/2 hours before my brothers wedding in Ohaupo, was very lucky to watch it! I'll be there this year, very happy to see so many warbirds, will one day be better than the other to see the aircraft or is it the same program both days?

The Stearman is only on Saturday, the Avenger and Orion only on Sunday, all the others both days - weather and serviceability permitting.
