I see that the Mossie will be on display in the Warbirds hangar over this coming Auckland Anniversary weekend Saturday 26, Sunday 27 and Monday 28 January 10:30am to 3:00pm each day.
Does anyone know when it will be towed across from Avspecs? Friday afternoon? Saturday morning?
As I was unable to be at Ardmore for any of the flights, I'd like to see it actually moving - may be some consolation for me.

The Mossie was on Seven Sharp tonight, you can watch it on tonight's episode here, scroll through to about 27 mins 30 seconds. Another great report from Michael Holland. www.tvnz.co.nz/shows/seven-sharp/live

So if one was to plan a trip to the US in the next year or two to see one or more of the Avspec Mosquitos flying... then which airshow(s) would be best to look at??

Without any insider knowledge, I'd suggest Oshkosh (I think that's the plan for PZ474?) and to keep an eye out for FHCAM fly-days and airshows at Virginia Beach. I have the feeling you'd end up with a big gap between shows.

Oshkosh, I'd say.

A plea from Dave McDonald on the WIX forum for photos of N9909F as she sat in the US has produced this. How neat!

...just 14 years after flying NZ to USA. KA114 is halfway there...
Love the 1969 version of drifting

The last half of this episode of 'Plane Savers' is Warren in the AvSpecs hangar showing stuff off, included PZ474 dis-assembled.

Folks, Have a look at the new registration of PZ474 in USA - N474PZ. Registered to Spitfire Ventures LLC. Its one of those new fangled Mosquitos, you know the ones....powered by the Allison V1710 turboprop.........

Its one of those new fangled Mosquitos, you know the ones....powered by the Allison V1710 turboprop......... Oh... that is quite sad!! It's not powered by Allisons at all. I am sure the DH Mosquito FB.VI is powered by a pair of Rolls Royce V1375 Mysteries. The Mysteries are sleeve valve turbo charged diesel V10's. You can tell it's fitted with RR Mysteries because the engines only have 5 exhaust stacks per side. Joe
