just looking her up, seems to be doing just taxi rides, but will dig deeper.
just sharpened the spade up and it might take a few more years but they are sorting out parts to make the complete assembly to air worthiness.

I thought I'd add this YouTube video in here for your enjoyment. I think you'll recognize a certain twin-engined aircraft in here! (And yes, you should all be proud of the restoration your countrymen did on the Mosquito!)

Apparently this will be the first time in over 40 years that two Lancasters have flown together. Since that only takes one back to 1974, I'd wager it's a lot longer than that, maybe 50+ years. I suspect the last people to get two Lancasters in the air together might have been the French Aeronavale in the early/mid 1960's. That's pretty confident of CWH to make the trip, it really would be something to see.

The map above was sent to the NZBCA, and is apparently the route that the Lancaster will take to go there and back.

Is this a similar route to the delivery of Canadian built Lancasters to the UK, or modified to reduce the amount of over water time?

Regarding the last time two Lancs flew together, I'm wondering if PA474 was airworthy when Just Jane (G-ASXX as she was when she first arrived in the UK) arrived in the UK from Australia. As 'Spirit of Surfer's Paradise' she flew in formation with an Aussie Canberra and a Victor and after receipt by the Historic Aircraft Preservation Society she flew in Bomber Command colours as 'Guy Gibson', but I can't remember if PA474 was flying at the same time.

There was a thread on FlyPast Forum a few years back where all that was investigated but I cannot recall if they established the two flying together or not. And being FlyPast Forum it's impossible to search for the thread as their search system is so crap.

C-GVRA has just left Keflavik International airport and is heading to the UK right now 8:25pm Friday night so early morning over there 8:25am UTC Lancaster On Her Way by suthg, on Flickr Using: www.flightradar24.com/CGVRATravelling at 9,300ft at 177kts or 204mph... taking it easy!! God speed, guys!! UPDATE- At about 9pm she was still only at 9,000ft and at only 178kts - she made a detour towards Faroe Islands, I believe she is below the radar window of the Faroe Islands radar F-EKVG1 Well I hope so, she was taking a path midway between the commercial corridors but these are at 37,000ft. Anyway, I hope she is just hard to see and not having problems.
