Did it serve in the Pacific or were those roundels used on the Tiger moths at home in Aussie too? At home in Aussie;  Graham emailed me to point out that the fin flash would not have had the red in it as the idea was to get rid of any red (like the roundel centre) just in case anyone thought it was Japanese! |

Thanks to my Marty and Nancy, my mates from Omaka, my Herc was towed safely from Christchurch to our airfield on Saturday evening. I'm heading up to Omaka in the morning to prepare ZK-CPT for her heart transplant. My Herc hasnt run for a while so I'm planning on giving her a run Monday evening to make sure she is still keen to play the game. I need to know that she is keen and able before she gets attached to the airframe. I suspect she'll be raring to go.

Loving the Auster gathering too, I'm not sure I've actually seen one outside of a museum before.

Let the rowdiness commence! I got an email from Stan Smith this morning, as well as the Auster the Fox Moth will be coming down and 99% probability the Dragon will be there too. Stan is recovering from a hip replacement so can't make it down himself.

Al, is there an AD which allows the bolting of a trailer to the Bristol Freighter, and will the cowling need to be modified to allow it to fit? Enquiring minds want to know.  |

Just spied a video put up by one of the lads at Avspecs (EDIT: On Facebook). Basically a short clip of the MK XIV's engine being turned over on the starter....she has oil pressure. We all know what comes next..............  |

Interesting things are afoot. This has come in from a southern correspondent...  "There have been more than a few rumours of 'area 51' type happenings at Omaka airfield in recent days and weeks, mostly at dusk. Inquiries at the airfield and to the airshow organisers came back with the explanation that all people were seeing was this........ And sure enough we do see this guy floating around at dusk some evenings, but then someone who'd been particularly dedicated to watching the scene from a secret hiding place, also sent us this........ " |

I was up really late last night, and I saw the pics, but they appear to have disappeared now.
I could trawl back through my computer's Temporary Internet Files folder to locate them as they will most likely still be in there.
Although, that can be a frustrating exercise sometimes.
