Yes I have the accident sequence of the 190 on photographic record but I'm still back country and the photos are raw format. Don't have any means of processing them right now.

Come now, there's no way on earth you could possibly know that's ErrolC and I! Also, great photo of the Yaks - I admit I was very very concerned when I saw that, and when they did a final low pass I actually knelt down to look at VVS' belly! Apparently such things can be common with the Yaks? Cheers, here is another couple as he broke off the display to sort it out. It was discussed on the commentary that the gear uplocks sometimes release under G-loading but that's about the limit of my Yak landing gear knowledge and it seemed to be fixed by cycling the undercarriage. I thought if the uplocks released the gear leg lowers fully rather than partially as seen. Can anybody who knows a bit more about it fill the rest of us in on what was going on? A non-event ultimately, but interesting occurence nonetheless during Saturday's display. That's a new one for me. For a second I was worried we'd see another machine on it's belly Talking to one the guys " in the know " on Saturday evening ( in the bar of course ) , he said its not unusal for the Yak to drop a leg a little under high G loads , and wasnt concerned in the slightest ( aparently they also rely on hydraulic pressure to help hold the gear up ). He was however much more concerned when someone showed him a photo of one of the P40's doing the same thing . The P40 one wasnt as bad , but still visible from the ground .

Just been through my P-40 photos from Saturday and I missed that, both through the lens and naked eye. Most of my pics are topside passes though to be fair

The flight in which the P-40 had the gear issue was a ride flight, flown by J.K., not during the display.

Just in case anyone noticed a V1 missing its port wing on Saturday afternoon, this might shed some light:
"right, lads, off we go...""...and around the corner we go. Oh, bit windy... d'oh!

I thought the V1 was pure bloody genius in conception and execution. So did all of the people who rose to their feet and applauded. It was a unique idea, and in some ways quite astounding. I totally agree and loved it. I was just uncomfortable with the launch ramp being out there when the east-west runway was in use. The fact that a Harvard did veer towards it and what happened to the FW-190 just goes to show how things can go wrong. That is what risk management is all about.

Mark Griffin Breathtaking photos mate, amongst the best I have seen on this forum. I like the black and white ones and the various grain and tint applications..I will be exploring similar effects after seeing yours as it adds so much both to portrait shots and machinery. Love the colour topsides of the Corsair and Anson and the Spitfire about to go verticle. Your colour shots seem to have some sort of effect on them ?..care to share Once again ...very very nice. Dino
