I would just like to thank aeromedia (AKA Pete McQ) for his support before I left for Duxford. Quite nervous about the responsibility it entailed and I shared those concerns and thoughts with Pete as he has "been there and done that" with airshow commentary around NZ. He knows just how much work and pressure is involved in doing a show as important as that and I really appreciated his support. In Bangkok just at this moment and this is the first chance I have had to access a computer since I left the UK...... Royal Thai Air Force Museum today for a cery much appreciated personal tour. Bearcats..... Spits.... rare Japanese types..... hopefully a SKYRAIDER !

In the UK Forum there were nice comments about the commentators giving time and quietness - space for the planes to air their "voice"and nice comments about the voice from down-under - There was NO jabbering Frenchman as promised, the commentary was there but was more educational but the gentleman from Australia (or New Zealand did not hear which it was sorry) was massively impressed by the show and what a show it was, shame a few aircraft did not make it because of the morning mist but I don't think they were much missed. And another comment I think it is best not to reopen the pro's and con's of commentators suffice to say I enjoyed Trevor and Pete. One minor gripe is that again they didn't give the name of most pilots. Perhaps this is deliberate I which case ignore this request but if anybody has any details or link I would really appreciate the insight. And yet another... It is a difficult job for sure and the different commentators do add a different perspective from those we have in Britain; the Australian commentator did today and the French commentator certainly did... ...whether the aircraft being displayed was Russian, American, British or German! I'm no good with people's names (as you can tell) so the fact that the pilot of each aircraft wasn't named was no loss to me but it wouldn't take a second to confirm the aircraft type, mark and pilot's name. At least the commentary team today suggested that they were happy to 'shut up' so the crowd could hear the aircraft. HAHA - to the last comment, about giving space to the noise of the planes themselves!! Another It was a good display, commentators were fine. Oh and one more for Pete!! - Have to say I thought Aussie Pete was fantastic. Really knew his stuff, but more importantly when and when not to speak. More here about Legends 2014... forum.keypublishing.com/showthread.php?130995-Legends-The-Show-Report-live-and-after/page2Cheers and well done to those sharing a voice at all airshows!!

Cheers Ando, I wouldn't unpack your case too quickly when you get home. I'm sure they'll want you back! As a prolific attendee of Temora flying days over the years, I first saw Pete in action on the PA there years ago and was thoroughly impressed by his warm and informative narrative to match the visual treats on offer. I wonder how many forumites realise the extent of his commitment to heritage aviation. For more than a decade he's made the 10 hour return drive from Sydney to Temora to commentate their displays and flying weekends, sometimes multiple times per month. That's a super serious aviation buff and total commitment right there! Top effort mate! Safe travels.
