Have they had the Titanium Pass before? $495 is a lot for one day at an airshow! What does it entail?

Should have a Uranium pass - comes with its own exclusion zone... no-one stands around you....

I purchased my Gold Pass for WOW2016 before they went on sale to the public.
I got it for a cheaper price than the advertised public price too!
A case of the early bird catches the worm.

You can get tablets to treat the worms mate.

You just needed to know the correct PROMO CODE and get in before a particular date to get the cheaper Gold Passes.

Thanks for that - an interesting idea, still not convinced it's worth the price but it's not for me to say others won't find it good value for money.

Well, I've got the Gold Pass, the accommodation in Wanaka is booked & confirmed, and I've grabbed the airfares.
Sometimes the early bird really does get the worm....I managed to grab Flexi-Plus seats, flying from Wellington to Dunedin a week and a bit before Easter (I'm visiting an old friend in Dunners, before heading off to Fiordland for a few days with the usual crowd I meet up with at Wanaka), then flying from Queenstown back to Wellington on the Tuesday at the end of Easter weekend, and those Flexi-Plus seats only cost me a total of $226 all-up both ways. In fact, the Flexi-Plus seat from Queenstown to Wellington was less than $100. I just about dropped dead with shock! I bet the cost to travel on those flights has risen heaps within a couple of weeks....it always does.
I know Warbirds Over Wanaka isn't what it used to be, but it's still a great social occasion for a group of us, plus we've managed to see a hell of a lot more of Te Wai Pounamu than most North Islanders over the years we've been going to Wanaka.
Now I've just got to book the accommodation for the whole group at Te Anau and Milford Sound. We're planning on chartering a helicopter for a big 2-hour grand tour of Fiordland out of Milford Sound while we're staying there. It's just an excuse to go and take some photographs from a few amazing places.

Well folks, sadly, I have to say that I shall not be undertaking commentary at the 2016 Warbirds over Wanaka. The Trustees have decided on a new all-Kiwi approach for the next show and therefore, unfortunately, Trevor and I cannot be a part of the event. Wanaka was my first international airshow commentary and fortunately has led to many other international airshow opportunities for me for which I am really grateful - and they all started from NZ.
I shall still be going to Wanaka and also making my very regular trips across the Ditch as I have made many, many close friends over there both in the shows and outside them and I love the country as those of you I have met well and truly know. I hope that my commentaries are able to continue at other shows in NZ and I thank everyone for their comments and kind words in the past. I also hope that in future at any shows in NZ if I am NOT doing the right thing in those commentaries, that all of you out there will let me know in no uncertain terms.

Oh, we will... *cracks knuckles*
I'm sorry to hear that Ando, I always figured the international commentary team was part and parcel of an "international" airshow but, hey, I'm not running it! I'm sure we'll hear you at the P-39 Launch Spectacular, at least.

Good on you Ando; keep at it. I'm sure you'll enjoy the show at any rate.

Their loss Ando. Your easy style and very broad, seeming effortlessly shared knowledge is Airshow Commentary Gold. For my two cents, I've never understood the fixation on what nationality the commentator is. Is the world that shallow? If you can share a story and can be easily understood, and know your stuff, who cares?

Most of Wanaka's crowd is Aussies anyway, most Kiwis cannot afford to go any more.

Thanks guys - I really do appreciate your comments and also appreciate the help that you have given me in the past when I have asked. Hopefully in future that shall continue........ now, a discussion over a few pints - Good Suggestion That Man ! I am hopingto be at Ohakea for the 80th if I am considered to be suitable for the warbirds/pioneer/vintage. I am also privileged to be able to do the RAAF (non-Avalon) shows over this side of the Ditch and would really enjoy working with Kate on the modern gear.... perhaps on even two Kiwi or ANZAC C.17s..... Who said that ?

Mustang51, I would like to echo those thoughts. Obviously the organisers have a right to do what they want....their show, but I have to say, Ian Brodie, Jerry Mead, and yourself- three of the world's best airshow commentators that we were lucky enough to have commentate at Warbirds Over Wanaka, all no longer invited to Wanaka....hmmm.... I really enjoy your easy going style and knowledge, so thank you, and I look forward to your commentary again sometime at Temora or other Australian shows. Keep up the good work!

Spiotfire 14, thanks again for your comments. I really enjoy doing the commentary and I shall certainly be at Temora for the showcases and Warbirds Downunder - as I am an aviation tart I cannot help myself. When Wings at Albion park was cancelled at 11.30am last Friday I just changed direction and drove to Temora instead for the showcase. Hopefully I shall still be asked to Tyabb and perhaps to continue with the RAAF shows (non-Avalon) so there is life in the old dog yet. However, I love flying across to NZ and parhaps that can continue as well. Would love to do another show with Aeromedia so any organisers out there just remember I work for a sausage sandwich !
