Where's the jet photos? Don't they visit much these days?

Nope Don, They never visited much to begin with. Sadly the only jets we see are Lears, Westwinds and C-17's.

The only time it gets interesting is when the US president comes to Canberra. Then we get armed Hornets operating from here as they do a 24 hr CAP over Canberra.

More boring RAN helicopters I'm afraid.

There have been a couple of large RAN Helicopter Formation flights recently. These are hard to get good shots off because the helicopter formations tend to be quite wide, compared to fixed wing formations (for obvious reasons) The first one was for the commissioning of 725 Sqn. Here's the best of a bad bunch


2 Bell 429's and AS350





First time we've had all 3 of our 429's in one formation. Pity this is the best shot I got of it

723 Sqn Form for HMAS Cresswell 100th Anniversary (IIRC)

Couple of shots of what will soon be the latest edition to the ADF's Bell 429 fleet. Brand new from the factory. We just got hold of it on Monday. Touch screen navigation displays - very cool.

See these all the time now but still not bored watching them



Blackhawks. We don't see these often even though they are only up the road. Good to see a two ship,









MRH-90, still like the look of this machine. Would like to see an RNZAF machine as I reckon their all grey scheme looks cool





Buy far the most interesting visitor was Thor. Unfortunately he only day I saw it fly the weather was crap, I don't know where he was going and hence he was a little far away to get decent shots. hence these poor images. he did a few more flights over the weekend abut I wasn't around.

But the highlight for the last month or so is these guys. They've been so working with the big boat out in the bay. In the nearly 25 yrs I lived here I can only remember seeing them here twice before so it was cook to see them flying around.













Gotta have one of these in each set About to crack 5000 hrs for the fleet in 3 yrs of operations
