The cost has always been $35.00 per ticket whether you can make both days or not, as it is a fundraiser. However perhaps this is why numbers are so low? So, if you can only make one day, how about $25 for that day? And those few who have already paid and are only able to make the one day, approach me on the day and I'll refund you $10. By the way, only 10 people have actually paid so far.

Every time you post an update about low numbers or reasons why people may not be attending, my heart just sinks. You've done a lot of hard work for this event Dave and I for one am very thankful.

Two Days To Go!!
I have had 24 people pay up for their tickets, and another ten or so who said they're coming but have not yet paid! If you cannot pay the money into my account tonight, bring it in CASH on the day (not cheque thank you!)
Remember to bring a fold up seat to Don's, and bring your lunch to Ardmore (or be prepared to visit the Cafe' there).
If there are any last minute people wanting to come, you're welcome to but contact me urgently on dave_daasnz@hotmail.com or on 021 122 1918. I leave for Auckland tomorrow morning (Friday) so will be out of email contact for a while, so text me if necessary.
Despite the smaller numbers,we have some excellent guest speakers lined up, in two excellent venues, and those of us who are coming are definitely going to have great fun and a memorable weekend!

Well - I'm keen for *both* days! I'm trying to rustle up a buddy for at least one of the days. For the Ardmore meet, I'd be keen on trying to "kill two birds" and try to get some photos of the Albatros (WLM). Does anybody know who to contact for that? Adam. Adam, can you please confirm if you and your buddy are coming please? I've had no email from you confirming.

Great day today listening to some great stories and maybe a few lies and lots of laughs. It was wonderful to hear from an era that has gone and as some one said today, to be never repeated. Thanks heaps to all who spoke today, and Dave , Don, and Mike who made it happen. Cheers guys.

Well, what another great day at Ardmore today. I finally got to listen to Bryan Cox talk about some of his wartime training experiences in P40s after reading his wonderful book 'Too Young to Die' in 1988, which I reckon I've read at least five times. I also had the chance to talk to Byran afterwards about flying Radio Control models of single engine World War 2 planes. He asked if we three pointed them when landing, as he said he always did in the Tiger Moth, Harvard, P40 and Corsair. All I could say was I always tried, and the Spitfire was easier. I got the feeling he would be great at teaching model R/C pilots how to do it properly by the numbers. Thanks Dave for today and it was a fitting reward to see the big grin on your face after your dream flight. Cheers to all who helped make this weekend happen.

A tremendous day - so friendly and informative! Credit to all contributors and organisers. All the speakers were interesting - and the subjects varied - but the highlight of the day for me was the smile on Dave's face after his Spitfire flight!!
These events really deserve to have a *huge* turn out!
Adam.

Cheers Dave for your time & Effort for putting together the weekend even though I could only make the Saturday. Thanks to the speakers who gave their time so I could enjoy myself. A special thanks to the Subritzky family I was like a kid in a lolly shop my first visit there and every time I went back into a hangar I saw something else I had missed. Below a link to 166 photos that I took some good some not bad but all of interest to me. drpc4x4.smugmug.com/Places/Wings-Over-New-Zeland-Subritzk

Dang I am tired, but what a great weekend. Thanks to all those who helped to organise this amazing two day event, and a huge thanks to those who came and spoke, and thanks to all those who attended. I hope you all enjoyed it. I am still on a high! And not just from the Spitfire flight. All my fears before the event that it would be unsuccessful due to lack of interest were allayed because those who did come were such a great group.
We've already been invited back to NZ Warbirds to do it all again to!! So yes, sometime in the future we will be doing it again. In fact a couple of people are already lined up for the next event to present/speak!!
Now, I want to know your thoughts. From those who attended, and those who were unable to, do you think we should return to just a one-day only format? Or did the two-day event work for you? I have a suspicion that the two day event made it difficult for some to come due to other commitments on a weekend. What are your thoughts please - this is important.
