I am already ridiculously excited. So excited my girlfriend and I have 3 day gold passes, flights and accommodation. Maybe a rental car is in order, but it's still on the to do list. It looks like heaps of people have standing bookings for hotels over Easter as there were not a whole bunch of rooms available. Get in quick (or go AirBnB) if you're still thinking about heading down from out of town.

Well, that's a few months earlier than usual! The carvery is a new thing for the Gold Passes this year. Looks good. I guess I'll have to do my organising a bit earlier this year!

I have never heard of Yealands wines, but if they sponsor the best airshow in the country they are A.O.K. by me!

All wine tastes the same to me, it's only good to get pissed fast with. I'm a beer man.

Dave, Doubtless there shall be plenty of both to imbibe. Looking forward to the emergence of the "star" performer closer to the date. About to order our three Gold Pass tickets right now. Accommodation settled at the Brydan again..... just down the road from the Speight's Ale House. Man am I looking forward to it.

My Gold Pass arrived yesterday :-D
The day before, the latest issue of the Marlborough Warbirds Association newsletter arrived via email. I'm not sure if it's been publicly announced so I may need to remain vague, but there is a little coverage of two international imports for the show - both WW2-era, both with recent North American history, and both very exciting to me. There's also a photo of the completed, but partially obscured, Stuka replica...looking amazing!
My excitement levels have gone up even more! How many more months do I need to wait?

Zac, World's worst kept secret. I know (as does everyone or just about everyone on this side of the ditch)what one of them is as a static but the other........ I'm guessing Mustang or Yak?

Well since the news is out in the latest Classic Wings I can mention what is in the container coming from Canada with Anthony's and my Auster parts and engine: Namely a P40E 1034 ex RCAF and a time capsule having never been modified since WW2. She is loaned by the Maude Family to go into the Aviation Heritage Centre at Omaka. And correct it is a race-modified Yak (11?) known as Steadfast and holds a couple of records too. Sounds like Yealands Classic fighters 2017 will be another great one!

I think Steadfast is a Yak-3, although I'm not 100%. Still. Awesome news!

Is that your photo Errol? Nice shot if it is! I'm thinking this will remind us of the La9 as that machine could really move too but this might have a few knots on that I think! I've ordered our Gold Pass tickets as I'm not missing this!
