Buchon making an appearance too!?? Just saw a post showing Buchon black 2 in a container with statement, off to tour Nz, warbirds over Wanaka 2018. Maybe the person who posted in nz air show archives is mistaken for 2016?

Don’t think so. I saw it on the WONZ Facebook page with link....it mentioned it was the Buchon that appeared in the Dunkirk movie

It's now official, the Buchon is appearing, but the Polikarpov has been cancelled due to engine issues.

Still no mention of the Masterton based Corsair and P-40. Nor the Omaka based Spitfire. I really hope they can get it down there given the connection with WOW and Sir Tim.

USAF display team C17a GMIII also listed. Hope the Buchon is on a fast boat!

My understanding the Mk XIV will only be displayed at Classic Fighters at Omaka, although it would be pretty special to see her at Wanaka once more!

If anyone is wanting accommodation (now they have been tempted by the F-16 and Buchon), I have spare bunks available in Queenstown Thur-Sun for very reasonable rates. Drop me a PM if interested. I'm flying in on Thursday morning, but driving to Dunedin on the Monday morning if that helps with anyone's transport.

The Canterbury Aero Club are looking at taking 1 or possibly 2 Partenavias down for a day trip so I've got our name down for two seats so if it's not to expensive I'll grab some Silver passes so I can tip tomato sauce on any forum members..............Don.

You could always try throwing it across the taxiway and see if you can hit any of us (including your last victim) in the gold pass grandstand!

Does anybody remember those Warbirds Over Wanaka seat cushions that used to get handed out to Gold Pass holders during the early years of the airshow? Most people simply got up and walked away, leaving their cushions behind at the end of the airshow. I presume most of them would have ended up in the rubbish bins.
I went with a group of people during those early years and I somehow ended up with everybody's cushions. I ended up giving most of them away to my parents, but after they both passed on, the cushions all came back to me. I've got a stack of them in my shed. And they have weathered the years really well.
I might take one to the airshow this year to sit on in the Gold Pass grandstand. I'll see if anybody around me remembers them.

Honestly, knock it off with the big-noting about the Gold Pass area please Bruce, I am sick of getting complaints.

I was merely asking if anybody else remembered or still had any of those cushions.
They handed them out from 1992 until about 1998.
I would imagine they would be fairly rare by now.

Still have my 98 cushion going strong. Use it for extra padding in my ocean kayak (they are fairly waterproof too). It has held up well. Very jealous of you guys going. Have fun and hope the weather gods smile down.
