Please...........get rid of the Sharkmouth........ Yep, not a fan of those either, want to fly her before paint, thinking a bit of a unique RAAF scheme?

Please...........get rid of the Sharkmouth........ Did The Jacky C not wear one? I'm not terribly familiar with US schemes.

Yes the orginal Jackie C had the sharks mouth, I'm not so keen on those dentures so this beast will get a repaint. Will fly her as is and once she is trimmed and I'm happy will set to her with a different scheme that's closer to home.
Just downloaded a the below clip of her, as is obvious I'm a fan especially of the gear!
Found this clip of the real Jackie C, don't be expecting a flight like this with mine!

LOVE that undercart Fantastic flying sequence - question for you aviator types, how many G's do you think were pulled during that flight?

It is an aggressive display, just watched it through again and noticed an unusual manoeuvre at around 3.40, roll to a 2/3 hesitation, well that's what I'm calling it?

Yes that manoeuvre gave me a sinking feeling, it felt like he was going to hesitation roll it and then decided against it?

Have a couple of great books on these magnificent machines, Adventurous Empires by Phillip E Simms and the Golden Age of New Zealand Flying Boats by Paul Harrison, Brian Lockstone and Andy Anderson, what a great couple of publications and wonderful reference material for this project! May not look like it but a fair amount has gone into getting to as she is, ready to fly. Always like to fly them before they are finished just in case it all goes wrong?! Weight is always a problem with these small 1cell (3.7volts) jobs, the rc B17 in it’s original form was no powerhouse, have added more drag and weight. Must weigh her compared to the original B17 I have. The cheesy holes probably don’t reduce the weight by too much but it all counts. Yes that is a middle upper turret you can see. “Awarua” ZK-AMC was trial fitted and flown with a turret for a brief period during the war, have made this removable. Hopefully get her own the air in the near future and some finishing details including paint, gulp more weight! Just a few more details for this one, have been doing way more modelling than flying this summer, been the windiest season this year! Mid upper gun turret on an Empire boat, Awarua actually had one for a brief period during WW II. All the markings are hand painted, really enjoyed this build, will tell her story and link with where I live one day, want to get a clip of her in the air. Have flown her pre paint and she was slow, not a bad thing, flying boats are slow. Have a plan to lighten the load to get a bit better performance out of her, fingers crossed! Before anyone asks no she won't be operating off water!

Will get around to flying something one day, been such a windy and wet summer this year.
In the mean time a short clip of my ultra micro Yak3 created from an ultra micro Mustang.

Another short clip of my ultra micro Mustang being the “Cadillac of the skies.” The below screen shots snapped off the above footage. Pilots, Ray and Mark Hanna along with “Hoof” Proudfoot.

Been plodding away on and off at this one for a while, converting an Ultra micro B25 Mitchell to a DH Caribou. Quite an involved conversion, wings gull wing in the opposite direction and fuselage has all sorts of shapes going on.

Thanks folks, just realised had already posted pic's of the Caribou on the previous page?! Had the pleasure and privilege of viewing John Smith’s Mosi at Omaka earlier this year. We are indebted to the Smith family for their generousity and the hard working crew at Omaka for the stunning job they have done on her. Decided to do my little (52cm span) RC Mosi in the markings she would have worn when John purchased her. Hopefully some flying shots soon. The other John Smith machine getting some stunning attention in the North Island, my RC Mustang take on “2423,” the decals open both models from Old Model Decals. (https://oldmodelsdecals.com/about-oldmodels-decals) I use Micro Sol and Micro Set, great product for applying and setting decals even on foam.
