Very nice indeed. Love the shot of the Mustang landing over the Buchons.....BTW, did you get a pic of the white van in front of the control tower?

Great photos, thanks for sharing them. I'm enjoying the Spitfire and Hurricane shots especially. That was timely here's the Battle of Britain formation. Didn't get a pic of the van Pete but did get some video which I haven't looked at as yet, will have some of the great commentary as well!

Wonder about this one a four cannon MK V? Is this an unusual one? The MK Vc were built this way but they had issues with jamming plus the weight penalty. Some went to malta but they removed the second cannon. Then in production they installed a machine gun (or at least provision for one)in place of the extra cannon. Four cannon Spitfires didn't come back until the MK 21.

Thank you she must have been fairly hard hitting with four cannons and four machine guns.

I really like this shot, four Hurricanes, four different fin flash styles I'd be interested. Can anyone shed any light on the different styles of fin flash please. I know P3351's scheme is from France. The others? Cheers!

Wow indeed! Great photos planecrazy, thanks for sharing for those of us who could not be there. From a personal point of view and from the photos alone, the four Buchons, the two Sea Furies, the P-40C and P-40F and the late model Spits (sorry if I'm committing blasphemy here but I'm on Team Griffon) would be the highlights:)

Those pics are crazy, er...Planecrazy! I really like the snap of the Spitfires in profile - almost like an identification poster. Well done. Now get back in your box on LHI and bring us the 'heads up' on what's happening!

Ha ha has been a bit of a brag hasn't it, will be back in the box keeping an eye on Tasman Sea crossers in a couple of days, nice to have someone other than the boss lady putting me in my place! More legends, finding it hard to leave some out!

Really nice pics and thanks for the compliment. Just hope that I can get the gig next year but this year, 100th anniversary of the formation of the RAF and 100th Anniversary of the end of WW.I was very special. Spits..... for me the Mk.Vc (with the Vokes filter) and the Mk.24 are the ducks......That Mk.Vc has RAAF history flying with 79 Sqn against the Japanese from Kiriwina and a Dairy Flat connection as well !

As far as the show was concerned, for me, the Battle of Britain themed segment took the cake, I thought including playing the music from the film was a great addition, also the flying in this segment you didn't know where to look! Added to this Duxford was where some of the film was shot! Yes I'm a bit of a Battle of Britain nutter so yes I am biased.

A future Legend perhaps? Lanc undersides. B17 over the country. At the end of the show they do the mass fly by, "Balbo," which includes most of the participants, (note, not the Hurricanes?) it's a bit hard to capture so included part of the "Balbo" with some nice sky. That's it for now, a wonderful experience, if you are into your warbirds a must do bucket list type event, yep it's crowded, it's along way away, it was really hot as well but it was well worth it, Flying Legends 2018 thanks for having me!

Woops, would be a sin if I did not mention "Ando" and the commentary, in my opinion they did a great job, just enough facts and figures to keep you interested and some silence when all you needed to hear was engine noise. I took a pic of the control tower thinking he was in air-conditioned comfort eating strawberries with cream, I was wrong he was sitting in a small van out the front of the tower!

My thanks for that. Trev did a great job of the production and getting the Battle of Britain movie grabs for the sequence was fantastic. Only took about 4.5 hrs to drive that commentary trailer up from Southampton.....grrrrrrr.......but when we did arrive at 7.30pm and put it in place were treated to the Hawker Fury biplane just doing a high speed pass.... quite extraordinary really as there was no-one else there.....

That F-35 wing looks like the Space Shuttle's. Probably flies the same too...

I have been really enjoying these FL18 posts! They do a great show and you've done a great job of documenting it for us. Just as an aside, there is something bugging me about this photo. Is it actually a DC- 2? ( rather than a DC- 3 ) The fuselage looks "squared" rather than classic DC-3 "round" and the rudder doesn't look quite right either...
