Great stuff Gavin. As always. Ando, no worries. Really enjoyed your commentary. Informative and well timed, although you did forget to mention the Hurricane restored in East Island by Air New Zealand! there were Kiwis wondering whether you'd bring up the Cobber Cain connection. Nevertheless, mate, keep pushing the guys at Wanaka to get you back again.

Well the dust has settled and back to the coal face, nice to have some cooler weather after the heat of the English summer we experienced. Have been looking through my pic’s of the recent Flying Legends and decided to share a few more, just a great experience! There were a number of classics including a couple of Tiger Moths, a Harvard and these two jems providing rides before the show. They put together some nice formations during the show, the Blenheim with early model Spitfires escorting a highlight. If you are a Spitfire nut this show is for you, X4650 has a Kiwi connection being the machine, in it’s wartime guise, that collided with Alan Deere’s X4276 in 1940. Read somewhere that X4276 is under restoration to fly, can anyone shed any light on this? The variety of the mark from the early to the later models, nice to see the all blue photographic type as well. Perhaps one of the more famoues Spitfires to exist MH-434 she definitely gets the nod as a movie star! The other movie stars of course the four Buchons. More soon..........

Variety of Curtis Hawks, American inline then radial as well as British inline engined power. Having the Thunderbolt rumble by is something else. Plucky little Wildcat, looks like the pilot is reaching for the gear crank handle?

So luck to see the Lanc with favourable photography conditions. The photos don’t do the display of the DC 6 justice. Some of the Balbo.

That last photo is quite mind boggling. Probably well over S100 million worth in that one formation.

I shall ! Was very surprised to have a letter forwarded by IWM from a UK punter. He was staggered that I mentioned Guadalcanal and the Cactus Air Force plus the Kiwis. He wrote that the Pacific and Aleutians NEVER get a mention and even the Bearcats on their way to Japan when the war finished were in the commentary. At least I now know that there were two people listening !

Ha haa! Nah, I was in the Gold Pass tent and even the Brits were commenting on how good the commentary was. It was good to hear about the Pacific side of things, because in Britain that arena does get ignored.
