I wish. New roller door and lock to make sure no one steals my scale model coconut trees.

Painting the garage floor so had to move the diorama outside. Passing aircraft snapped this oblique view. You can see a few coconut trees down from passing tropical storm ... OK I really tipped one of the baseboards over. Expletives deleted. fullsizeoutput_1b08 by tankienz, on Flickr

Just when you though I'd gone away I'm ready to progress this project. A significant addition I'm hoping for is some ground crew figures. A clever friend took a bare computer figure, added some shorts and a range of hats, then manipulated them into a variety of poses. I can't wait to see what he has achieved.

Every Pacific island airstrip needs a patch of bamboo so after an hour painting the trunks they soon all disappeared into the clump which ended up smaller that I was hoping so another 20 bamboo trees ordered on Trademe. fullsizeoutput_1bd7 by tankienz, on Flickr

I don't know about bamboo in the Solomons or Bouganville etc, in WW2 era, has anybody have further ideas on this? Don't recall seeing any at Rabaul in 2001, but I may have missed them as I was too busy checking out the height of resident palm trees! I believe bamboo has been introduced to large numbers of countries around the world during the 20th century, although I believe this famous plant was mostly native to Asia. David D

I introduced my research on this workshops trailer way back in Jun 2019 (page 4). So the wheels and work benches with lots of drawers and cuboards on each side finally got added today. Anyone have a feel for the interior colours? Looks to be a dark colour something like green on the benches with light colour above that - white, cream or a very light green fullsizeoutput_1be0 by tankienz, on Flickr

David D Bougainville definitely has bamboo. My 1 bamboo star accomodation for 4 months (when not out on patrol). fullsizeoutput_1be1 by tankienz, on Flickr WW2 Australian report of a battle on Numa Numa Trail ' who had to cut their way through the thick bamboo with machetes so also present during WW2.

I was aware of the recently added photo of the RNZAF Museum which unfortunately shows I have the wrong type of wheel hub fitted. The other two photos are new to me. Thanks.

About to enter new territory - RNZAF Pacific figures. Last month I asked a friend who has a 3D figure program to make me some 1/48th figures with relaxed poses just clad in shorts with a mix of bare heads, soft caps and solar topi. He did the designsi and arranged for them to be printed. All good except the figures with topi didn't quite work. I picked up the figures today - magic. The number of poses were doubled as he mirrored them. The painted figure is turning a log in a sawmill. Designed by same person but printed, painted and sold by another friend. Will appear in RNZAF island sawmill. fullsizeoutput_1c17 by tankienz, on Flickr

Bloody cool Paul. But just wait till the Station Warrant Officer catches them standing around with arms folded and hands in pockets.
