If you are creating a beach you should add some of the little yachts and droptank canoes that the RNZAF coastal island stations all had for recreation. Darn I must talk to the little voices in my head about blabbering the ideas we have. That was supposed to be a secret

So does that mean you are looking for details of the yachts too?

After days in bed with horrible cough I'm finally starting to feel human again and do some modelling focusing on the rear bodywork.

Working on the two hose reels from plastic and brass bent into rings. After I took the photo I realised that the spokes are on the outside of the centre hub - wrong, they should be on the inside so the hose is retained by the spokes. A wee bit of deconstruction is required. Almost done.

With a coat of paint it is starting to look the part and hide its mixed origins. IMG_3405 by tankienz, on Flickr

Some bigwig from Wellington visiting today wanted to inspect our MT. So we lined it all up and away he went inspecting wheel nuts or something. I'm not sure what he made of the Japanese dozer or roller at the back. Luckily one of the Yank photographers was around at the time so we managed to get him to take a colour photo as well.

Nice progress, it's looking very realistic. Well done! I'm enjoying the updates, thanks.

Cool project, I’m assuming you will weather all the vehicles? Especially ones like that Jap roller.

Yes the two Jeeps and the Clarktor already have several washes of white coral dust. The rest will follow.

Another couple of weeks of overseas hotel rooms produced lots of coconut fronds so 20 trees now finished and planted with enough fronds for several more trees still to paint.

I started this one ages ago but it has finally got to the top of the 'to do' list, a Chev C8AC 8 cwt CMP. The donor chassis is an Airfix Bedford MWD. ww2db.com/ by tankienz, on Flickr I plan to make two more No 13 cabs in parallel to enable models of C30 ambulance and C60 machinery trucks to follow.

As its a sunny day I took the opportunity to move the garage contents around so I could play around with the baseboards and track layout. The wharf baseboard may yet be orientated East West. Beach scene with two wharfs, one built with local materials and the other Seabee, a floating dock sections. RNZAF sawmill on the back rail siding, stores area with quonset huts on foreground siding. The control tower will move to the far knoll with jungle trees on the sole in front. Stripped Lightening to be added to the wreck dump.
