The C-130 Hercules: 70 Years of Continual Innovation - (70 years ago on this day 23/8/2024). NZ7001 was first flown on 19 November 1964 so in a couple of months the RNZAF would have been flying the (same) C-130s for 60 of those 70 years...!

Is 7011 coming to NZ, or are the Hercs to be permanently posted to Georgia and Whenuapai turned into housing?

From the Chief of Air Force (CAF) this morning... "It gives me great pleasure to tell you that our newest aircraft, NZ7011, a shiny new C-130J, has left the Lockheed Martin Factory in Marietta, Georgia winging its way home – KIW843 for those keen to track its journey. This milestone reflects an enormous amount of work by our Integrated Project Team and RNZAF personnel over many years, and to all involved I simply say, thank you. The aircraft is due to arrive home on Tuesday the 3rd of September, with a formal acceptance ceremony the following week supported by our Minister of Defence, CDF and other dignitaries, marking its official entry into RNZAF Service. As you would expect of a C130, it will be straight into business on air lift missions as it completes its introduction into service requirements, including supporting Operation Antarctica in just a few months’ time. Once again, I acknowledge all those who have a played part in getting us here, and I look forward to this exciting new chapter in our Air Force’s relationship with the mighty C130. For those wondering, a suitable sendoff will be planned for the retiring C130H workhorse early next year. Ki Nga Hau E Wha - To the Four Winds"

It is not showing on Flight Radar 24 at the moment, it seems to be on the dead zone for ADS-B.

Are they intending to arrive in NZ tonight or tomorrow?
Maybe the 3rd of September quoted was US time?
