Wings Over Wairarapa - 2021 Dates Confirmed 26 to 28 February 2021
Thanks to New Zealand’s ‘team of 5 million’ doing such a fantastic job fighting COVID-19 we are now in a position to confirm the Wings Over Wairarapa Air Festival for 2021, albeit with some adjustments.
The uncertainty around borders and entry into New Zealand means we will be focusing on showcasing the incredible range of aircraft available within New Zealand and we are excited!
We are very privileged that Hood Aerodrome is home to the Vintage Aviator aircraft. Add to that, organisations from across New Zealand from Auckland's NZ Warbirds Association; to Marlborough's Full Noise; the North Island Yaks and aircraft throughout the century based up and down the country. We are in an amazing position with the quality of the air display we can offer.
We look forward to seeing you next February. Tickets will be on sale in July. Keep an eye out for our June e-news or sign up on our various social media channels for updated information.
Thanks, Jenny and the 2021 Wings Over Wairarapa Team Email: Info@wings.org.nz

Tickets on sale - October 26 We are excited to announce that tickets will be on sale on October 26. Exactly 4 months to the day before the Air Festival starts. A few things may look different to previous years but one thing is certain, it’s going to be a great day out for families, friends or on your own whether you are a plane enthusiast or whether you are just after some fabulous weekend entertainment. We’ve already confirmed an awesome air display and we’ll be releasing further details once tickets go on sale. Whether you are an aviation enthusiast or just want an entertaining weekend away for the family, WINGS has so much to offer. In addition to the spectacular flying programme there are fantastic ground displays and activities, as well as activities for small and big kids alike. The Vintage Aviator Hood Aerodrome based aircraft collection is without doubt the largest flying collection of WWI aircraft in the world. Many of these aircraft will not been seen outside of Hood Aerodrome in Masterton. This collection will feature prominently in the flying and static programme. We will also feature civil, military and agricultural aircraft and helicopters. Static displays include the opportunity to get up close with aircraft, emergency services displays, delicious food and wine and market stalls. Has anyone stayed at Chanel Court Motel? Looks basic, but I'm only planning on sleeping in it.

The refund-in-case-of-cancellation conditions are fairly draconian.

Draconian? I would call them well planned and fair enough, and the warning to all ticket holders is clear enough.

Draconian? I would call them well planned and fair enough, and the warning to all ticket holders is clear enough. Aimed at people who live in Wellington. I bought flights out of Wellington on both Sunday morning and evening several weeks ago. I assume that a Gold Pass stand was thought too large a financial risk.

I was on the fence about this show, but Classic Aviation Photography's Facebook post of a couple of TVAL birds out for practice today has tipped the scales in favour of an early bird ticket purchase.
