Except that is now a P-40E, so does not count. Is a Harvard modified to look like a Zero, a Harvard or a Zero? Is the data plate on the RNZAF Museum P-40 still for a P-40F? If it is, then in my book it is an F model modified to look like an E. But still an F. Like the A-4L they have dressed up as a K.

In that case the P-40F flying in the UK is therefore a P-40E.

Reminds me of this lady I met once in Thailand, Her appearance didn't match the data plate.

Hi Guys - hey - if you want to debate P-40Es vs P-40Fs... do so on another thread....what we have here is a super original ex-Russian lake aircraft that will be a stunning P-40E when it flys shortly...

I agree. Fantastic looking aircraft. Would be great to see one in Russian markings at some point.

It is rolled out and fuelled for a potential test flight today I believe. We eagerly await news of its first flight in a long time. Also, we therefore take it, chase plane with a photographer also standing by?? Photographic proof or it never happened!

Not sure what the photography arrangements are as a lot of the usual people are not allowed into Auckland.
I am told it will roll at 11 minutes past 11 o'clock. But official photos and footage won't be released till the owner has seen them.

I remember standing in the terminal at Sydney airport waiting for my flight to NZ for the Mossie first flight. I found a free internet station and was on this Forum waiting and then the pic came through !!!!! Raced back to the others to tell them. Much excitement
