Note the difference in tyre pressures Nice observation, Antonio, I've got my Bf 109 manuals and stuff out and the G-6, because it had the capacity to be fitted with field mods had modified tail undercarriage or "orhölter sporn eingebaut", because its odd to note that the Bf 109G-2's tailwheel pressure was 4.5 ata, and so was the Buchon. Mainwheel pressure was the same.

And more's the pity about the G demise............ Tis a shame its not flying, but the reason behind it not doing so is not what most people think (he says quizzically...)

(this is not a Buchon conversion but a restored Bf 109).... DSC_0062 Seems to me to be a particular G-2 with a rather storied history in both war and peace, although I daresay that machine deserves its own thread! It probably does, but would anyone object owing to the fact it has no direct NZ connection? It has a very well known Australian one.

I saw this aircraft flying at North Weald once, by Mark Hanna (naturlich). It sat next to Dave Gilmour's (of Pink Floyd) P-51 on the flight line. Later it did a formation flypast with Black six and the BBMF Spit, Hurri and Lanc... I have a pic somewhere, but can't seem to find it... D-FEHD

"3.5 atu" written above the bay. A whole 1 atmosphere less than the Bf 109E... I had a terrible feeling that was going to comeback and bite me in the tailwheel!!
