The long range weather forecast for Easter looks very good, but pretty crappy next week leading up to it. It will be calm, cold and frosty for Easter I'm picking.

I hope all the northern aeroplanes can get down past the weather in time. Especially the Mossie.

Brendon posted they were heading down today to get ahead of some approaching bad weather. They’ve just passed Omaka cruising at 7000 feet, so I assume the conditions are good for cross country travel today.

FlightRadar has the Biggin Hill pair maybe 5-10min from Wanaka. It's been almost 67 years since the Mustang last flew over the South Island!

Brendon Deere reported that the Avenger had to return to Ohakea on Friday due to a technical fault.

I’m sorry to hear that, I hope the issue is easily resolved. As I type this Steadfast is practicing over Omaka. The two New Plymouth Trojans and four L-39s all passed through Blenheim today, unfortunately I had no idea so missed them! Also this!

L-39's arrived today.
We just need those pesky F-16s.

The F-16s arrived in Christchurch right on sunset tonight. Did several touch and go's.

Hi all, bit of a lurker post but I've got 1x surplus Hurricane Tim Marquee ticket for Saturday only, as unfortunately my wife can no longer come with me to Wanaka. I'd much rather it went to a fellow enthusiast before I hit up Facebook. Looking for face value - $260. I was booked for WoW in both 2020 and 2022, so really looking forward to this weekend! Can't wait to experience the F16s again, after seeing them at Ohakea years ago. Ticket is printed, and I'll be at WoW on the Friday as well as early Saturday morning. Message me through here please. Thanks, Greg

This morning an all-silver P-51 tearing around fairly low over Christchurch. A glorious late morning now, little wind, full sunshine, some puffy clouds about.

Yes, I've been enjoying the sight and sound yesterday and today. Probably one of the last times we see ZK-TAF in our Canterbury skies 39 years ago I first saw it fly under the skilled hands of TT Bland. Has it been so long?

It seems most aircraft have either arrived at Wanaka or are on their way.
F-16's in CHCH 2x Mustang, Spitfire, Corsair and L-39's at Wanaka Anson and Trojans at Ashburton.
That's an airshow in itself.
