pity DAK is not there. I guess it is away on a maintenance break. I spotted DAK outside the Fieldair hangar in Palmy last week....

Great photos, Colin, but I hope you had a thermos full of tea or coffee with you for the early morning start? Looks worse over there than in Cbr in those icy shots!

Lov ethe photos Colin, thanks. That rabbit (or is it a hare?) sure seems to enjoy posing for photos.

Thanks Craig, the coffee at Ardmore Cafe was very warming! Thanks FlyJoe180. I think it is a Hare? It gave this old timer plenty of time to focus the lens properly.

Rabbit or hare?
Really?
Ever heard of Ardmore Rabbitport?
(This sounds like an ASB advertisement)

Great Photos as always Colin - the hare pics are pretty impressive! - Interesting how the back and front feet overlap.

Got bored with the rain out in West Auckland this afternoon so I took myself and camera to Ardmore to see what was happening ... have to say not much. Now I'm pretty naive when it comes to this type of plane but it was being worked on in the hangar and was taken out onto the apron when it stopped raining. It was given a motor run up for a few minutes then shut down and wheeled back into the hangar when it started to rain again. From the other side ZK-EIB finding the puddles on the runway And ZK-EIB airborne Couple of other shots while I was there.

Kiwi Thunders existing engine monitoring system (the VM1000) has been replaced with a new one from Electronics International (the MVP50). Malcolm Thompson came over from the USA to do the installation. The MVP50 is a engine analyzer and systems monitoring instrument that will allow the operators of Kiwi Thunder to log and download more data with greater accuracy. As part of the installation a new instrument panel was fitted . Test flights were carried out on Tuesday, the following photos are from Tuesdays action. Technical Hitch Engine run up prior to test flight Taxiing on Apron Take off Also flying on Tuesday was NZ 2415 Taxiing on Apron NZ 2415 at takeoff

Nice pics there Ralph. Come visit more often. I got this one the other day and hope it is not a view of what is to come at Ardmore? :-) No wings, no motors but they can certainly get along with a bit of wind. Cheers

Yep, thats me. Popped over to Whitianga for the day. Beautiful photo. I've just given myself a mental ticking off, my door isn't latched correctly, that handle should be horizontal.

Caught VNM again today. Seen here taking off: Followed by ZK-MUS the Mustang and they came back in formation. Worth the wait to see them. Colin

Hey Ralph, may I compliment you in regard to the quality of your pictures, theres something different about them, in some shots a kind of unreal ambience, almost like they're paintings. Unusual and a really nice effect. Nice one. What camera and settings?
