I would be delighted to have NZ Warbirds use any of my images they wished to use on their site. Anything to further the cause.

That Harrier pass is awemome. Yip the Kittyhawk with Flames is a nice picture. I Went to Wanaka with around 5 different angles that I wanted to get. Number one on the list was the F111 shrouded in Haze. I had a vision of what I thought it would look like and it worked out better, took three days to get it just right. Number 2 was the flames out of a fighters stacks. The P40 photo was taken from the Goldpass stand looking back towards the fuel pump where the jets fill up. Totally unexpected but it came out well. I have a series of 8 of so from that one start up. I had my canon 100-400L on full reach and was impressed with how much detail the lens picked up. As for the other three angles well I didnt get them but will try and sort it out at Classic Fighters next easter. I also have no problem with photos on the NZ Warbirds site however I already have shots on the site from WOW 2006 and Classic Fighters 2005.

Lucky they weren't refuelling at the time! You really cannot beat lenses like Canon's "L"s. I rather lust after a 100-400mm. Does the pump-action zoom cause any angst with drawing in dust?
Great shot of the Polis, too, XR6Turbo1.

I do like the 100-400L. I am not sure how mush dust gets in as I used to change lenses a lot so I reckon most of the dust I had was from that. The lens has been on my new 30D for a couple of weeks and I have only taken 50 odd photos with it so its to early to judge. I have a couple smaller lenses and having to swap is a bugger so I solved the problem and got a 28-300L IS 3.5-5.6 lens and thats on the 20D so apart from doing air to airs where I use my 24-70 lens swapping days might be numbered. Have only used the 28-300L a few times and it is very good indeed. Have ben to busy to use it so will have to try and do something about that.

Like me, so many options. It's a tough life but someone's got to do it. I must look up the 28-300 L IS. I clean my 20D's sensor with a "Digital Dust" brush system charged with a can of air. So far so good.

Have you got a link or picture of the digital dust system?

www.luminous-landscape.com/essays/sensor-cleaning.shtmlwww.luminous-landscape.com/reviews/visible-dust.shtmlThe second one of these is the system I bought. You don't need the small brush and should be able to but the compressed air locally. Dick Smith, Tandy or a radio-shack type store. Follow the instructions and only wipe the sensor once. Take a test shot @ f 22 or smaller. I just use a white blank computer screen. My son could see if the dust was gone when I did his 350D recently by looking at the camera's on-board screen. You could probably buy a Nylon flat brush at an art shop. The DD brushes have metal collars so I think it is B/s about the problem with them. Their website is www.visibledust.comDoing the job yourself saves a trip to the phot place and lots of $$

We should probably be talking about this on another thread but what sized brush do you use for a 20D. Might track one doen and see how it goes next time I get dust on the sensor, I have heard it hardly happens if you dont changes lenses often but time will tell. Do you think you will be over for The Classis Fighters Airshow next Easter, If so we should meet up somewhere?

Well, yes, there is an under-utilised Aviation photography board for discussing technical issues. This is ok here and now but please try to keep future technical stuff there, cheers. It just makes it easier six months down the track when someone's looking for the info again.

Great minds think alike, with the exception of the side-on view, I have shots which are almost identical.

That is a wonderful selection of classic shots in your latest post Peter. The top one of John and James in the back seat is worthy of a caption competition!
Who's that in the Corsair in the big picture?

The guy in the Corsair photo is Gene De marco, he flies the Sopwith Camel as well.
Nice shots, I really must try and take more of people.
