What a shame to see NZ3632 like that. No doubt there would be no interest in buying it, bringing it back to NZ and restoring it to RNZAF colours. I dont think it would be a big problem to get the airframe ...there are lots of alternatives that could be used for fire training.. The big $$$$$ would be to get it to NZ ....and restoring it. If anyone is interested ..and has the $$ I will gladly supply details of who to contact at Lanseria Here is a thought chop the front off and ship it to NZ! So who has shipping contacts? Oh what a good thread as well!

Nice and I forgot to say thanks for the Auster MK V too. Nice as I used to own one just the same (ex RAF TW502).

I visited SA in 1987. After my childhood and early adulthood flying domestic in New Zealand, it came as an unpleasant shock seeing the same sort of security checks for domestic flights there as you would on international flights.

Perhaps we were ahead of our time ... but to be frank, I dont recall anything special about the security checks .. in fact they were pretty lax compared to todays standards found around the world. I would be interested to know what you found different ?

Remember that in NZ back in the '70's and '80's, a domestic aircraft boarding was just like getting on a bus (walking outside to the tarmac and climbing up stairs to get into the friendship/viscount/737).

Ah yes .. now I remember .. We had to protect ourselves against flower bombing Kiwi's in Cessna 172's ... And anyone who wants to respond... keep it light ... I am not into politics.. but I could not resist the chirp
