I'm not convinced Macchi counts as it's just a simplification of Aermacchi, although to back up it's 'officialness' MAC was the aircraft's proper abbreviation (just as IRO, SEA, ORI are), rather than AER which it would have been if it was derived from Aermacchi.

Ohakea's new gate is flash. Even the plants seem to be standing to attention. Wait till the Autumnal winds start blowing, that will fix them Perhaps we should hold on to them in case of a warranty claim.

The original hoist is made by Telefunken.
We are getting BE hoists on the A109.
I had hoped we would get the Goodrich hoist that the Swiss have cleared on their Alpine Rescue A109s, but for whatever reason this didn't happen.

I thought the Aussies got the same hoist? The original factory hoist was a relatively old and basic design but we specified the flash new Goodrich hoist. Maybe the Aussies went with the original factory spec'd one?

I'm 99% sure it's the same as the Iroquois.
Very flash Goodrich dual head winch too.
So who's going to bring out a set of 1/72 Decals for the Revell kit then?

Thanks for the offer of photos, I've hopefully got a few on the way from CPE but I suspect I'll still need some showing the different configuration around the engine exhaust, as ours isn't angled and open to the hull side like the kit is.

Don why did Argentina not buy our Skyhawk fleet even if they used them for spares? Just seems odd if they are short of spares for their own ones. I agree that both leaders within Government and within the Defence seem to lack a "clear" vision of where they are heading. Perhaps because they have upgraded A-4Ms and ours were essentially upgraded A-4Es, and our dodgy old Skyhawks are are not exactly a source of authorised aviation spares.

I seem to recall that they would have been included in the European MLU program that the Belgians etc put theirs through. Not sure of any details of where that work was done though.

LGBs were never stored as all-up rounds, they were merely MK83s with separate Paveway guidance kits that could be attached to make GBU-16s.
Honestly don't know what happened to them though, might be pretty hard to toss a 1000lber from an Orion!

The sticking point of any project that seeks to be armed is... the armed part.
Sidewinders and Mavericks don't grow on trees, although to be honest Maverick isn't exactly the most practical weapon for something like this (Hellfire would be better), you'll note the TGM-65G and CATM-9L in the photos.
