All the Brosnan ones were forgettable, they were just big special effect movies that had almost become parodies of Bond Films. I think the Daniel Craig films are the best for a very long time.

Our G models don't have the observers console in the back like the F models did, our observers sit up front on the left, and have pretty much a duplicate of the pilot's instruments, with the exception of the MFD (which is actually pretty central) and the FLIR controler.

Why don't you double away and research that, I seem to have left my teaspoon somewhere else.
It doesn't spend all it's time tied up either, perhaps something else you could take the time to educate yourself about.

They can go by Canterbury another expensive and under used defence buy. Or the C-130 or its replacement. Our PM is nothing on the world stage and does not need a military transport at all. I am sure he would personally sooner fly Air NZ in a more modern reliable type. There are sure to be a lot of role within the entire NZDF to be cut...thats if you really want those tasty Frigate and new aircraft....wait till the pay cuts and cutting of your super. Lol, sure. Lets deploy people to the MEAO on Canturbury. Or bring our casualties home the same way. Or lets take a week by Herc. Can ANZ dispatch an aircraft at a couple of hours notice to fly into an operational theatre and bring defence casualties home, as happened last year? No, of course it can't. ANZ doesn't employ many AME qualified medical personnel, last time I checked. Are you purpossfully trolling by ignoring it's full role and continuing in refering only to the VIP component? Or are you just too lazy to actually learn what it's role is.

I've never got into the habit of using it, tried it on a Matchbox Provost I bashed into a Winjeel and wasn't satisfied with the semigloss finish, so I may have a bottle lying around if anyone wants it. I'd be keen on that, I find the stuff excellent to use. I know Feilding Write Price had four or five bottles last time I was in there, down on a lower shelf. They'd been there forever and I'd vaguely thought about buying one, but never seemed to remember when I was actually in the shop. Not much use to me now I'm in Auckland through!

The way I look at the 757 role(my view only) is it is not a true military role as in VIP.The PM can fly air New zealand and I would not mind betting he prefers it aswell.I was just two weeks ago on a flight from Christchurch to Wellington which had several Air force and Army officers on it,and yes this was an Air NZ flight,so it beggs debate this VIP role. Why not do away with it and place your limited funds towards getting a more reliable and bigger C-130 replacement and a multi role trainer capable of a dual transport and short range maritime patrol role aswell as multi engine training. Had we replaced the Andover at the time of retirement and replaced the C-130 we would not be in this mess in the first place. Just my thoughts. The 757 is NOT a VIP aircraft. It is our strategic airlift capability. The Iroquois has a VIP role too - but you aren't calling for us to do away with the helicopter fleet. Take a little time to learn what the aircraft actually does. While not impossible, it's a bit tricky to get an ANZ flight to send a rotation on OP CRIB for example. And it's a bloody long flight from NZ on a Herc if you are flying to the other side of the world.

Actually I returned to work today and found that in fact les (or pete maybe) has repainted all our aircraft.
Sprites now feature the above approved symbol on the tail, and the official badge on the doors.
My MA decal sheet just became that much more inaccurate!

They were going to stay in the pakistani grey scheme, they were not going to be green.
If they had ever been repainted, they would no doubt have ended up all over grey like everything else we currently have.

There was a lot of work done to find a suitable holster for the Huey pilots, the standard issue Bianchi M9 leg holsters did not sit well with the armoured seats, eventually S&S designed a custom holster to be worn with the ALPs that didn't interfere with the airframe or the controls.

The one at Devonport isn't one of ours, it's an ex USN frame that was being used by the fireys for training. There's some photos of it before it was painted on this board somewhere I think (that is assuming the Navy don't have another one? We took our very bare F model out to them a couple of months back to do some trials with).

It will continue to be operated until all the roles (CT, SAR etc) are fully up and running with the NH90 and sufficient crews trained to meet OLOC or DLOC or whichever it is (I can never remember!). The upshot being at least another few years of Huey operations yet.
