Is there a programme outline for this yet? I'd like to determine if it will be practical to fly the Adventurer up and get back before it gets dark.

No specific programme finalised yet Bruce but we will start at 10.00am, and go through the day, with the aim to end the talks around 2.30pm to 3.00pm and then time for people to fly (including Alan in the Spitfire) and then after that, for those who wish to attend, we've been invited to join the Warbirds members at their clubrooms for 'debrief' at the bar.
Has anyone booked a flight with one of the Warbirds yet?

It will just be me coming from Hawera as Sam is off to Tonga with a workmate. Means more Ardmore time for me!

Has anyone booked a ride in the array of aeroplanes that will be available on the day?

I have just sent out a bulk email to all those who have indicated to me that they intend to come to the Forum Meet, with lots of information and the payment instructions, etc. Those who receive it - please read it carefully, there's a fair bit in there to keep in mind. Thanks.
If you've indicated to me that you want to come, but have not received the email within the next hour or so, please contact me on dave_daasnz@hotmail.com as something has possible gone wrong or I may not have your email address.
If there's anyone else out there sitting on the fence wondering if they should come to this, make your decision now please! get in touch ASAP if you are planning to come and have not yet told me.
Cheers Dave

The question has arisen about where to park aeroplanes for those who intend to fly in for this. I consulted JK (John Kelly) at NZ Warbirds and he has replied:
"Perhaps aircraft could park on the grass area in front of NZWB HQ and walk across from there. If we could get an indication of how many aircraft we can expect that would be good. Also if anyone has not been in to Ardmore before or are unsure of how to get to Warbirds and want a briefing they can give me a call on 0212754360."
So if you plan to fly in to this event in your own aeroplane please let me or JK know. Thanks.

Hamiltonians... if the wx is usable, are there any aviating seats spare for a return trip from Hamilton / Te Kowhai (share fuel of course)? If not, I'll drive... but why drive if you can fly Message if you prefer to avoid forum clutter or txt 0276-272363 (or call 854-5518) Many thanks Pete

Most of you who were sent the email have not been in touch. Are you all not coming now?

Just a heads up. Turns out I had yet to pay for the tickets. Didn't read the email Dave sent properly and missed the bit with the account number etc. So if you haven't paid yet get cracking!

Sorry Dave, we moved over the weekend and things have been hectic to say the least (won't bore you with details). Entry fee will be with you by Sunday.

Just an update:
First the bad news: Unfortunately Warren Denholm is not going to be able to attend the Forum Meet now as he has had a trip come up to France.
The Good News: We will have several Bomber Command Association veteran members attending. Confirmed at this time are: Alan Taylor: Major, Artillery Korea, and longest serving BCA MOTAT man Wally Halliwell: RAF airframe fitter , 1938 Halton Brat Reg Dunbar DFM: S/L RAF , WOp-AG Wellingtons 194 and 37 Sqn and Defiant 1943/4 No. 100 Squadron on Mandrel patrols Keith Boles DFC S/L pilot No. 109 Squadron Oboe Mosquitos John Green RAF Air Gunner, No. 100 Squadron and No. 12 Squadron confirmed kill as a RG Bill Petersen pilot No. 101 Squadron Halifaxes Roy Montrowe DFC Pilot 143 Squadron Welligtons in North Africa , No. 692 Squadron Mosquitoes. Total 93 op
Also some great news. Thanks to the tremendous generosity of Doug Brooker and Frank Parker, as well as the Spitfire flight for Alan Peart DFC that we raised the money for, they have offered a brilliant two-for-one deal and Frank will also be taking up the other living New Zealander who served alongside Alan in No. 81 Squadron, Jim Robinson. So we'll hopefully get to see two Spitfire veterans go up in the Spitfire, weather permitting (start doing those sun dances people). What a very special day this will be!!
Lastly - there is still a large number of people who have pledged to come who've not yet paid the cover charge for the tickets. Please get onto this immediately. I don't want to be spending time chasing down people and handling copious amounts of money at the door on the day. if you have special circumstances delaying payment please email me (a few have and that's cool).

IIRC, Jim Robinson is one of the signatories of the Hostile Company Ron Fulstow print?

We have around 90 people on the list for this event, and so far only 47 have actually paid for their ticket and confirmed their attendance. Disappointing.

By the way we have lined up a replacement speaker. Former RNZAF Skyhawk pilot and current Yak Team display pilot Mark Halliwell will be speaking to us. That should be great.

By the way, I'm planning on picking up Grant McHerron (from the Plane Crazy Down Under podcast) from AKL Sat arvo, and being at MOTAT around 3.30. After they throw us out at 5.00, I'll probably take him to Galbraith's at the top of Mt Eden Road for a primo kiwi beer or two. We won't be staying long, as Zac is driving up to my place! Anyway, we would be happy to trip over other avgeeks along the way.
