There was an AN-12 based out of Hamilton for a few months back in the late 1990s - 98 I think (I was at Aeromotive at the time) Part of an aborted air freight start up.

Did you get a photo of it's touchdown?? Apparently they just drove it on, nose wheel first... very little finesse displayed!!

We always see the ANZ 747 and the Atlas one that works for Qantas freight but this one is pretty rare here these days. I not sure but I think it brought an engine here for the A340 parked in the ANZ Engineering hangar? Cheers, Colin

Comon Dave, that's not nice. great new efficient aircraft and probably a team behind it to make sure it doesn't fail.

I noticed some jetstar planes as I was walking thru the terminal at 1500, didn't think to look close enough to ID type! I did manage to 'spot' the China Southern one :-)
MEL is very pleasant BTW, seeing Hornets and C17 practicing at Pt Cook tomorrow.

They have admittedly been out of the media lately so maybe they have finally sharpened their ideas up a bit.

The screen on the centre pedestal looks like it showing the missiles it is carrying. Electronic flight bags ? Boeing doesn't like side stick controllers, aka Airbus

A couple of rarities that were at AKL in the last couple of days. (Airwork) Toll Priority 733 freighter ex N519AU United Airlines. Now ZK-TLC she doesn't look like that any more

Ever since the 787 came out I've wondered why it looks familair and I have just figured out why. The nose profile reminds me of the DH Comet airliner.

That might explain all the short comings it has had in it's introduction.

Be great to see some pictures if anybody's out there snapping?
