The nice weather has certainly brought a lot of aircraft out of hangars and the ones not in hangars have been very active! Nice pics keep em coming. Cheers, Colin

The Beaver currently opearates from a berth alongside a work yard near the Silo Park. The owners are aware that this is not really a good long-term site for a tourist operation and are negotiating for a higher-profile location in front of the restaurant row that backs on to Jellicoe Street. At the Silo Marina next to all the motor yachts and one even has a helicopter on the back. Cheers, Colin

For some reason I have just looked at the ticket prices for this years show. WOW is right! The cost for one admission for either Sat or Sun is NZ$85.00 .For $5 more its a family pass to Wings over Wairarapa's 2013 show. WOW. Sadly just too expensive for this old enthusiast now. I look forward to any pics uploaded. Was always a good show and love the scenery in those parts of NZ. Cheers, Colin

There was a bit of free entertainment onboard an Air NZ A320 I was on this morning enroute from Wellington to Auckland (on NZ418). I was seated in one of the emergency exit rows, and just across the aisle a woman took exception to the flight safety video. She put sleep shades over her eyes and headphones over her ears during the safety briefing. A member of the cabin crew had a go at her over it and told her that because she was seated in an emergency exit row, she was required to take notice of the safety briefing. The woman told the flight attendant, "I'm an intelligent woman and I'm NOT going to watch that sexist crap!" There was a bit of a Mexican standoff over it. The hard case thing, is that she wasn't your usual stereotypical feminist type, but was a drop-dead gorgeous bimbo just like the chicks in the video. I guess they are going to end up with a few dramas like that on flights until they next change to a new flight safety video. Maybe they have to borrow the Pak N Save stickman for the next safety video? :-) Cheers, Colin

Yes I have seen a few and have tivo some. Very good and a good contrast to the Dubai airport series now on youtube. I think it is screened twice on Choice the second time being the next day in the morning? Cheers, Colin PS just checked their guide and shows 9:00 and 12:30 Tuesdays. www.choicetv.co.nz/tv-guide

Picked up a Nikon D200 yesterday off trade me quite cheep, wandered off to Ardmore today for a play but not a lot flying for such a nice day. A few test shots attached. Nice pics! Nice camera but heavy on batteries is the only fault I had with mine. It still works and I use it now and again as my back up. Cheers, Colin

I think it is worthwhile mentioning here, apparently the well known ag pilot Derek Williams of Tauranga retired this week after 60 years in agricultural aviation. The first five years as a loader/driver and 55 years as a pilot. A remarkable career span for any pilot, but in the world of low level precision agricultural flying this must surely be a record? On practice day Tauranga Air Show. Great achievement! Cheers, Colin

Great shots Colin. What were those paintball people and their doggy doing to that poor old man? He had just stolen that plane and they were catching him. :-) Cheers
